We really could use another reliable scorer. Lenard and Barry would have been perfect, but the Nuggets swept them up. We have a roster full of forwards, defenders, and 3rd string scrubs. VC,AWilliams,MoPete,Murray,Davis, are the only guys who are capable of scoring. If Davis is not hitting his 15fter than he is useles on the offensive end. MoPete is known for taking bad shots and is really inconsistent. Hopefully Chris Bosh and other Raps can add to this list. We definetly could use another scorer, if only we could bring back Walt "The Wizard" Williams or pick up Raja Bell, Steve Smith,Dion Glover....Or maybe pull off a trade for BBarry,JRich,ERobinson,EJones(I wish!), all who have been invloved in trade rumours around the L.
I think Chris Jeffries may back up Vince during the season, thats pretty sad. We'll have to see how it goes, I think all roster spots are filled, so I think a trade is the only possibility.
Not really. Our best player is a sg so we dont need the best backup out there. Alvin, Curry, Peterson, Murray, Palacio, Jeffries, Brunson can all backup Vince Carter at shooting guard.
Steve Smith is still available and would come cheap...You should of signed him...he wouldn't have to play long..Just hit a few threes and back-up Vince...Dion Glover is returning to Hawks...Most of the top SG's are gone..apart from one..but he wants more money than what you can give.
He doesn't suck at all..Smitty is still a good shooter and most important he brings experience to help out your young guys...He is better than any of your current back-ups...There was just no room for him in SA last season because of Sjax and Manu...
OOOOOOOOOOUUUUU! He can hit the open three! Thats about it. Hes old. We dont need his taking Jeffries minutes.
Y do RAPS need a SG? They have VC and he will play 35 to 40 min a game and then u will have Curry or even peterson can play SG
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kid Canada:</div><div class="quote_post">OOOOOOOOOOUUUUU! He can hit the open three! Thats about it. Hes old. Jeffries has more Potential then Prince. He would have been a lottery pick if he wasn't injured. So eat that allnet and dont say he wont be anything.
More poteinal than Prince? don't think so..Prince at least has showed his talents when it matters..but even prince is just a good role player..but why mention him? whats that got to do with this thread? why do you always bring pistons players into this forum? ..Jefferies a lottery pick? are you getting him mixed up with you know...A good player?
Because you bother the **** out of me when you diss the raptors. Jeffries would have been a lottery pick if he wasn't hurt.

His college career was hardly impressive..Was pretty average...

Go back and look for a Mock Draft when CJ was'nt hurt before you say he would not have been a lottery pick.

And before he got hurt in 01/02 season he averaged 17.3 points and 6.3 rebounds a game in 21 games..still hardly lottery pick numbers as well...So I don't see how he would be considered lottery bound..
i don't think jeffries is that good, but i don't think that prince is anything special either. they need a sg, just in case vc gets injured again. i would sign smith if i was them. he wouldn't play too much, but he is clutch and that could be helpful.
I've heard that a lot of times too, that CJ would have been like a 10-20 pick if he never got injured, but thats in the past. KC I don't know why you bring other posters teams into this, first of all, I would take Price anyday over CJ. Chris Jeffries is very undiciplined on the court, he can't move without the ball, he can't catch a pass, and he takes really selfish shots. Every game I've watched him come in, I haven't been impressed all that much, its rare when I complement him. Allnet did make some valid points, theres no reason to get mad just because you have a different opinion. I think there should have been a better backup, but I guess thats what Curry is for, to come off the bench for about 5 minutes a game when Vince isn't playing for some DEFENCE. I don't think an offensive backup was all that necassary when you've got a player like Vince starting.
Raps dont need to worry about there rotation for SG, if needed alvin williams or mo pete could play SG
Did u guys forget about the injury factor? Some of u guys make it seem as if everything will run smoothly, VC will play 40mpg, score 22-25ppg etc... If VC, Murray, or Mo get injured the Raps will be screwed. I personally do not want to see Palacio or Brunson at the 2 spot. Curry can not make up for the O, Jefferies was pathetic last season and should be cut. Jefferies can't shoot, pass, or dribble. KC! Ben Wallace was never drafted and I am sure u love him off, so who cares if a garbage player was once projected as a lottery pick under circumstances! Jefferies or Curry are not the answer.
