<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) - Sacramento Kings forward Lawrence Funderburke is out at least six months after undergoing surgery on his left Achilles tendon, the team announced Friday. The surgery was performed Monday at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio by Dr. Thomas Lee. It was supposed to relieve chronic tendinitis in the tendon, but a tear was discovered. Funderburke will be in a series of casts through mid-January before beginning a six-week physical therapy program. The 2003-04 season ends April 15. </div> To read the whole article please click here: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=fund...ov=st&type=lgns
Funderburke is a good player, unfortunately good doesn't cut it on a great team like the Sacramento Kings. He probably doesn't feel too bad about it either. Who wouldn't want to collect millions while sitting on the sidelines?
Fundy is not that kind of player. He is a class act. I can assure you he'd rather play. And with our sudden lack of depth at PF, yes, he will be missed. Now, at PF we are Webber/Massenburg(12 teams in 12 years)/Songaila(Never played a game in the NBA). That's it. You're telling me a vet like Fundy, the player who has been with the Kings the longest, won't be missed? Please.
