Q & A with Elton Brand and Corey Maggette..

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Clippers.com: You had quite a busy offseason. Did you find any time to relax?

Brand: Yea, I got to go to Belize for a few weeks with my girlfriend. It was a lot of fun.

Clippers.com: What was the highlight of the summer?

Brand: Winning a gold medal was definitely the highlight of my summer. It was a vindication of last year. There were a lot of things that I did this summer that I was proud about.

Clippers.com: What areas of your game did you work on most?

Brand: Well, I don't want to give away all of my secrets (laughs)... but I worked mostly on stuff down low by the bucket.

Clippers.com: I know winning is the most important thing in your book---but do have any other goals for the season?

Brand: Hmmmmm.....winning is always the main goal. [But] other than winning, playing as a team and respecting each other is key.

Clippers.com: What most excites you about playing for Coach Dunleavy?

Brand: His style of play. I’m looking forward to playing for Coach Dunleavy and gaining experience by making it to the playoffs.</div>

    Now with Corey Maggette

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Clippers.com: So, how was your summer?

Maggette: This summer, I did the usual, worked out and spent time with my family. We went to Hawaii. But I like to work out so much that I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with my family.

Clippers.com: What part of your game were you most focusing on?

Maggette: What I really worked on was my shooting. I’m trying to make my game a lot better. I’m trying to be more of a student of the game and learn.

Clippers.com: Obviously, your #1 goal is to win as many games as possible, but what else are you looking to accomplish in 2003-04?

Maggette: This year I want to improve my game. I think with Brand and Coach Dunleavy, [we're] going to do things to make our team the best. It will take some time but we are going to grow together and continue to work.

Clippers.com: What do you see as the biggest challenge for this year's Clippers team?

Maggette: I think our biggest challenge is going to be working as a team. Everyone is going to have to find out there role. I think our group will be able to learn. When we go to training camp, there will be guys who are willing to learn and that’s what we need.”

Nice Q&A, hopefully they can lead the clips to a somewhat decent year.

I think the Clips will finally turn it around this year even though they were supposed to do that last year. The addition of Dunleavy at coach is great and that he will probably get along with the players seeing as he probably knows a couple already because of the Duke affiliation (and yes i know little dun didnt go to Duke when EB and CM were there)

    NO.

Dunleavy is a horrible coach. He had a championship caliber team in Portland, and he managed to blow a 15 point lead in the 4th quarter of game 7 of the Western conference finals. AT HOME!!!!!

That's not the kind of thing that you get over easily (where do you think he's been the past few years??). It will forever haunt his career as a coach.

I have little respect for this guy.

Besides, the Clipps have less talent this year than they did last year. How will they turn it around?

Last year players were playing for themselves and not focusing as a team. I agree that they will play better..but not by much.
