    ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) - The Orlando Magic on Monday signed three free agents, including guard Shammond Williams.

    The Magic also signed forward Alton Ford and guard Derrick Dial. Terms of the contracts were not released.

    Williams played 78 games with the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets last season, averaging career highs of 8.0 points, 3.4 assists and 2.2 rebounds. He was traded by Boston to Denver on February 20 along with a second-round draft pick and cash for Mark Blount and Mark Bryant.

    The 28-year-old Williams originally was selected in the second round in 1998 by the Chicago Bulls after helping North Carolina reach the NCAA Final Four that year. He has averaged 6.4 points, 2.6 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 242 games with Atlanta, Seattle, Boston and Denver.

    The 6-9 Ford has spent the last two seasons with the Phoenix Suns, averaging 2.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 7.5 minutes.

    Dial spent last season with Virtus Bologna of the Italian League. He also participated in the Orlando Pro Summer League, scoring 6.0 points per game. The 27-year-old averaged 3.1 points and 1.6 rebounds in 73 regular-season NBA games with San Antonio, New Jersey and Toronto.

    Williams's contract is partially gurranteed.I think dial,b johnson, and aproceca will not make the team with cisse having a slim chance.

    I agree , Dial , Johnson, adopaca, and cisse should get cut. I love Shammonds game , he is herky jerky , he can put up points in bunches , Magic can think of him as a replacement for T hudson , no comparison though
