Marc Stein's New Power Rankings 1: Spurs 2: Lakers 3: Wolves 4: Nets 5: Mavs 6: Kings 7: Pistons 8: Suns 9: Pacers 10: Hornets 11: Rockets 12: Magic 13: 76ers 14: Celtics 15: Blazers 16: Warriors 17: Bulls 18: Cavs 19: Nuggets 20: Heat 21: Wizards 22: Clippers 23: Raptors 24: Knicks 25: Hawks 26: Grizzlies 27: Sonics 28: Bucks 29: Jazz Full Story: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/powerranking ------------------ Not too bad, I would take the Grizz over the Wizards though. Opinions on this?
16 is to good of a placing for the Warriors, Grizzlies are better than most of the 15-25 teams (Grizz are 26) and while the Jazz aren't good, they aren't 29th.
sonics at 27? i read that and he said rashard, ray and collison are 95% of the team, so he's obviously never seen radman or brent barry play, and assumes ridnour will be dickau mk 2. he's got us 11 spots below GS, who we finished above last season, and they've lost arenas and jamison - not sure if i follow that logic?
Stein has officially become a disgrace to the human race by placing the Grizzlies under the Hawks, Cavaliers, Warriors, and a lot of those other top twenty-five teams. He says that the Grizzlies need a Center, but they already have Lorenzen Wright and Jake Tsakalidas! How can you deny a lineup as deep as the Grizzlie's either? They have Person (started last season), Battier (started last season), D.Jones, T.Bell, Watson, Swift, and Tsakalidas.

He puts the Magic, Pacers and Hornets ahead of the Sixers! This guy is crazy, they most definetely have a better squad than all those teams.

They had a record of .463 last season and are only going backwards. The Cavs are waay to far ahead of the Wizards. I'm not convinced about the Nets being at #4 either. They've lost Eddie Jordan and signed a center who hasn't played one complete season in the last few years. I'd say the Kings and Mavs are ahead of them.
Marc Stein is approaching the respectability level of Chad Ford. These are some terrible rankings from top to bottom. I agree with all of you the Warriors are ranked, too high, along with the Cavs and Nuggets. I'm not sure when Stein actually made this list, because the Grizzlies and Sonics are a lot better than teams ahead of them. *Official JBB Power Rankings Coming Soon...
Orlando is better than Philedelphia, they have the better superstar, although Philly has a better 2nd option in the Big Dog. However the Magic have become arguably the deepest team in the east. Only position Orlando is weak at is Center and so is Philly without McCollough(his career is over) look at the matchup Magic ......................... Sixers PG Shammond Williams ................... Eric Snow adv. Sixers SG Tracy McGrady ......................... Allen Iverson adv. Magic SF Juwan Howard ................ Glenn Robinson adv. Sixers PF Drew Gooden ................. Kenny Thomas adv. magic C Steven Hunter .................... Derrick Coleman adv. They Both Suck Bench Magic ................... Bench Sixers Gordan Giricek .................. . Aaron McKie Pat Garrity ................... Monty Willams Reece Gaines .................. John Salmons Tyronne Lue .................. Greg Buckner Donnell Harvey ................... Wilie Green Keith Bogans ................. Sam Clancy Zaza Pachullia .................... Samuel Delembert Adv. Magic by a lot, Philly basically has no bench. I love E. Snow but he is human and will need a rest, they dont have a decent backup. Magic are much deeper Gordan, Pat and Ty Lue will get at least 30 points by themselves. Magic have better rookie prospects too, Reece Gaines will be decent not good, Keith Bogans could be the steal of the draft and I cant comment on Zaza cause I have only heard about him and never seen him playe except sumer league, which he dominated, but that is no indication of the NBA , he could be a complete bust and be out of the leauge in a year

Fact is you named two rookies, a guy that really isn't that good (Watson), an old beat down Person, and two big men (Big Jake and Swift) who really haven't showed much of anything so far in their careers. The Grizz deserve to be at the bottom of the league, don't know why so many people have started to support them so much.
It really shows how bad we were to have lost the franchise figurehead, acquired a certified pot-head, and manage to move up to #20 in the rankings. God bless the Leastern Conference.
