NBA.COM came out with a nice preview of the Grizzlies 2003-2004 Season the other day. The link to it is above. There's not much to say about it since NBA.COM is not allowed to state personal opinions.

    Season Preview!!!

    MAN ON THE SPOT!!!
    Miller Time
After being acquired from the Orlando Magic last season, Mike Miller never found his stride in a Grizzlies uniform. Miller missed half of his games with the Grizz, struggling with a sprained ligament in his back. Miller feels he has overcome the back injury and is ready to step back into the starting lineup. "It feels good to be pain free." Miller told the Memphis Commercial-Appeal. "I'm confident it's 100 percent."
The Grizz will count on Miller to provide the deadly outside shooting threat that made him the 2000-2001 NBA Rookie of the Year. Working within Coach Hubie Brown's motion offense Miller should get his hands on the ball enough to knock down jumpers that will free up Pau Gasol on the inside.

    SEASON OUTLOOK
The Grizz took a while to adjust to the in-season change to coach Hubie Brown's motion offense, but they were able to put together some streaks, winning 12 of their first 20 games after the All-Star break.
President Jerry West swung a deal on draft day that got the Grizzlies Troy Bell and Dahntay Jones, two college seniors who had played in big-time programs. West and coach Brown wanted to get players who wouldn't take 2 or 3 years to figure out how to play in the NBA. "We think that they will be able to come in and play right away." West said on draft day. "I believe in class and character of a person, and this is going to help us get to the next step."

Pau Gasol comes off a strong summer where he bulked up and excelled in the European Championships. "I didn't put on much weight, but I gained in strength," Gasol told the Memphis Commercial-Appeal. He will continue to be looked at as the leader of this team.

With a roster that has only one player over 30 (Wesley Person), the Grizz are young and talented but look to need one more season of testing before being able to challenge for the playoffs in the wild West.

    SCOUTING REPORT
Give them a training camp under Hubie Brown, they'll be better? Jerry West has earned a lot of accolades in his career and has put together a good team. One problem facing him though is the West is a tough place to improve dramatically ? Some looked at their draft as being unconventional, but it's Jerry West, so you don't want to question that too much ? Mike Miller should continue to flourish and should be more comfortable? It's hard to get comfortable after being traded ? Pau Gasol helped his confidence with his performance in Europe ? He's got to have a better feel now, coming back to the NBA. He should have a spring in his step? Hubie's been an innovator in the league for years ? In my opinion, he's one of the top tacticians to coach in the NBA."
