It'a a good trade for Minnesota and LA Clippers but I don't think Memphis would accept. They need more, like a good bench player. Also the 1st round pick should be this year if it isn't because it will be a good one.

I don't think the Clippers would accept.. Quentin Richardson AND a first round pick just for Troy Hudson? Richardson has the talent to be a superstar in this league, and we know how important those first round draft picks are for perenial lottery teams like LA.

Troy Hudson showed signs of becoming a star in the NBA last season in the playoffs. This year he'll be coming off the bench. LA Clippers need a PG badly. If Troy Hudson can continue the form he showed last season there is nothing that bad with this for LA. (If he couldn't it might be best for him to be replaced with Sam Cassell). But provided he continues to play well giving up Q and a first round pick would be a good move because LA are overdue for a good year with the lineup they got and a new coach. Q hasn't done much in LA lately and doesn't look like he will with the tealent around him. Teams know he could breal out and will want him.

Troy Hudson had the benefit of being guarded by Derek Fisher. Fisher is a terrible defender and can make any guard in the league look like a superstar. Mike Bibby surely benefitted from the terrible defense Fisher played on him in the playoffs, but once the regular season started, Bibby was shown to be just average. There is no chance the Clippers give up a 1st round pick for Hudson, an then throw in Q as well. Not happening with Sterling in charge.

Minnesota is already a deep team, but they lack depth at the one spot Hudson plays, which is PG. Replacing him with Hoiberg is a huge dropoff, and with the injury prone Cassell in the lineup, it's a matter of time before they need Hudson to start 10 to 12 games. Q isn't really needed, because Spree and Wally will eat up most of the minutes at SG, and KG will play a lot of minutes at SF. Swift would be a nice addition, but Kandi, Ervin, Trent, & Madsen are more than capable of holding down the front court.

Yes, Fisher plays bad defense, but look at what Hudson did during the regular season. He has been improving almost every year since he has been in the league, and with more minutes, he should improve even more. All Hudson needs is a good post player and he should be happy, and he has that in Elton Brand. I agree what Hudson did in the playoffs was kind of a fluke, but if he played for the Clippers he would average around 17 points per game.

Minnesota is not that deep of a team, especially at the post. If Olowokandi gets hurt, I don't think Ervin Johnson can take his place. We need a solid post player backing both Garnett and Olowokandi up, and Swift gives them that. Yes, Hoiberg is a big dropoff, but I was thinking maybe they could resign Rod Strickland and he would help a little.

Memphis is probably the weak link out on this one, but I think that a Clippers 1st round pick would give them 2 very high picks in the draft. That would make their team more younger. Ervin Johnson only has 1 year on his contract, so I don't see why the Grizzlies wouldn't take a chance on him.

Overall, I don't see why this trade is unfair, but that is just me.

...And look what Fisher did in games 5+6 against Hudson. :P

I know Hudson has skills, but I don't think he is as good as everybody makes him out to be..of course, I don't watch every T-wolves game, so I shouldn't really comment on this.

It's a good trade for Memphis, just fix the lineup from this -

    Lineup:
    PG: Jason Williams/Troy Bell
    SG: Mike Miller/James Posey/Wesley Person
    SF: Shane Battier/Ryan Humphrey
    PF: Pau Gasol/Bo Outlaw
    C: Lorenzen Wright/Ervin Johnson/Robert Archibald

    To this -

    PG - Jason Williams/Earl Watson/Troy Bell
    SG - James Posey/Wesley Person/Dahntay Jones
    SF - Mike Miller/Shane Battier/Ryan Humphrey
    PF - Pau Gasol/Bo Outlaw/Theron Smith
    C - Lorenzen Wright/Jake Tsakalidas/Ervin Johnson

Yah, I did the lineups from the top of my head, so they might not be exactly right.
