Late-night television host Craig Kilborn got a taste of NBA training camp Monday when he took part in the Timberwolves' practice at St. John's University. "I thought it was going to be more intense," he said afterward. "I played in college, so I haven't taped my ankles in 19 years. It was good." Kilborn, a Hastings native, played college basketball at Montana State. The Wolves didn't make him go through all their drills. "He did OK," Wolves coach Flip Saunders said. "He didn't mess anything up. He's finding out that it's not that easy. He petitioned to make this more like football, where you can have offense and defense and he plays offense." Kilborn, known for his shooting ability, said his shot felt good early, but his goal was to dish off a nice assist. Kilborn and forward Kevin Garnett played a friendly game of H-O-R-S-E after the morning practice. Yah, he scored 1 point yesterday. It was just for his show, he didn't even earn the point. They set it up off of a "technical" foul, which was a defensive 3 seconds. They called it on Ervin Johnson even though he was on offense. Sid Lowe was freaking out until he found out it was setup, then he started laughing.
I think that Craigers is the missing piece the Wolves have been looking for to get them out of the first round.
