Quick question, with Collison missing the year with his shoulder, is he still eligible for ROY next year, even though he'll be in the second year of his rookie contract. other players have been drafted and then been classified as rookies later on because they play overseas (ie - Stojakovic, Sabonis etc), but is Collison eligible if he doesn't play a game? Any help on this would be appreciated
Yes he's eligible. Speedy Claxton didn't play his first season and was eligible to win the award the season after he was hurt.
Think the same went for big Z as well, matter of fact he played in the rookie game the next year after he missed the first year due to injury. He was the MVP of that game too.
I think it would only be fair if he was. I mean, sure, he was drafted this past draft and all, but, if he never sees playing time, I would only think it's fair to him if he can win it.
