Wagner, who sat out the final 20 games of his rookie season after having surgery on the knee in March, visited orthopedist Dr. James Andrews this week in Birmingham, Ala.

Cavaliers general manager Jim Paxson said Andrews consulted with Cavs physician Dr. Richard Parker, and after reviewing MRI results, they concluded that Wagner needs to have the torn meniscus in his knee repaired immediately.

"He basically re-injured the knee in the same spot," Paxson said Wednesday night from Asheville, N.C., after Cleveland's 83-80 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
