By that, I mean people that you think will improve significantly from last year, or even rookies. Who do you think I should keep an eye on for a breakout season? I'm thinking: Dwyane Wade Starting for the Heat, big first pre-season game Drew Gooden Strong player last year, could break out this year Yao Ming Back for a second year and under Van Gundy's offense Darius Miles I think starting PG with LeBron and Ricky Davis on the team Michael Redd, Carlos Boozer, Michael Sweetney, Vince Carter, Josh Howard, Tayshaun Prince, ... Who else?
Danny Fortson, Gilbert Arenas, Darius Miles, Lamar Odom, Corey Magaettie, its alot. But Miles will have a break out year, probably a canadite for MIP.
those Bulls guys (Curry, Chandler and Crawford) K-Mart Yao Parker (he'll be hell-bent on proving that the Spurs are better off with him and not Kidd) Speedy
Yo an Ol'skool playa in this piece...........Ima Straight up Lakers fan. Peep this Carmelo will be rookie of the year because he'll score more any rookie and Denver wins 35-40 games....Watch out for my boy Juan Dixon.......dont sleep on this cat
Zac Randolf, Eddy Curry, Michael Redd, Tj Ford, Carmelo Anthony, Wade, Miles, Yao, Claxton, Van Exel, Mcdyesse if hes healthy, Vince Carter, Lammond Murray, Chris Bosh, Kwame Brown, Tayshaun Prince, Either Kedrick Brown or Jurmaine Jones.
Dwyane Wade, Zach Randolph, Michael Redd, Andre Miller, Eddy Curry, Tyson Chandler, Juan Dixon, Yao Ming, Nick Van Exel, Speedy Claxton, Emanuel Ginobili, Tony Parker. I'm sure theres more.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">How about the whole league?</div>You expect the whole league to have a break-out season?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Fast Luck:</div><div class="quote_post">You expect the whole league to have a break-out season?</div> Of course not..I just watch everything as a whole.
I'm trying to manage a salary-based fantasy basketball team... I'm trying to draft guys who are under-valued. I've got G Redd G Wade F Gooden F Randolph C Yao 6 Duncan and still squeeze in under the cap. Although I sorely want Miles and Boozer, I just can't fit them. The rookies are so cheap, but you can't get more than one or you'll never reach the salary cap.
gooden's gonna have a good year. donnell harvey will have a good year(don't know how his stats will be, but he will be aggressive and be good addition to the magic). i like redd, desmond mason, maggette, nene hilario, and kwame to have breakout years, plus the bulls guys(chandler, curry, crawford)
Andrei Kirilenko, Keon Clark, Carlos Arroyo, Yao Ming, Tyson Chandler, Darius Miles and a Mike Dunleavy.
I think Gooden will make the most impact this year then any other rookie or sophmore. First off he plays in the size lacking east and has a great frame. He can play both the 4 and the 5 positions. He is a beast in the paint and can easily grab in 10+ rebounds a night as a force on defense. Now if you add that to his offensive potential, he is capable of getting 20 points a night. Drew Gooden is one of the most underrated players in the league. He is a quality big man who gets very little respect. I hope he does not hit the "sophomore wall", and to this point, he hasnt shown me that he will.
There is atleast person that has been left off of this this list thus far...I may be biased...but with Kevin McHale teaching Olowokandi, he should definately qualify as a breakout player this season. I bet it will be the best of his carreer up until now!!!
manu ginobili really should have a breakout year...not the biggest of anyone in the season but after a disappointing first half of last season with an ankle injury he had an explosive playoffs and he definately has been working in the off-season
