<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BAKAJ:</div><div class="quote_post">what are your opinions?? James or Banks??</div> Right now it's between Tony Delk and Banks, James is their third PG. But it's probably going to be Banks, he's done well in preseason and the Celtics are trying to be a running team this year, so they'll want a fast PG.
Delk will have to play PG because at SG the Celtics probably will use Jumaine Jones to back up Pierce.
Marcus Banks has been awful so far in the pre season. He is turning the ball over a lot and is not distributing the ball.
Did u watch any of his games on TV??? He is playing pretty good he is distributing the ball to all the right players!!!
Marcus Banks should start tony delk is not a point he is a scorer off the bench. He would be an excellent scoring spark off the bench for your celtics. But he proved last year against the nets that he cant run a team as a starting point. Your half court offense was horrible at times and that is the main job of a point to run the offense in the half court. And he just cant.

Banks playing this year is similar to when a rookie QB is forced to play even if he isn't ready.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BAKAJ:</div><div class="quote_post">In Pre Season his % is low but in the season he will pick it becuase he wont take as many shots!!!</div> That doesn't make one iota(go to www.m-w.com, type in iota, and it will give you the definition) of sense. So he takes less shots? That means every shot will have a more drastic affect on his percentage. If he takes 100 shots for the season, for instance, each shot will be worth 1%. So if he misses one, it will be 1% lower, if he makes on, 1% higher. If he takes 1000 shots, each shot will be worth .1%. That means a small change in FG%. He could miss 10 shots, and that would be the same as missing one shot out of 100. So by taking less shots, it has no effect. Its all up to him. It could even lower it. As the game goes on, and if he hasn't shot the ball, he could miss bec. he is not warmed up. But if he shoots more, chances are, he will be ready to take more shots, and could get in the zone and raise the percentage. So it has no effect. Not that you will actually read any of this.......
I think Delk will be the starter. I don't watch ALOT of Celts games, but from what I have seen, Banks isn't quite ready for a starter role. He will be though.
I think they will switch from delk to banks and sometimes play them together so Delk can teach the rookie about the L.
i agree with obie. i think banks and delk will switch off depending on if one guy catches fire and is playing good or if someone is playing horrible.
Mike James had a great game last night against the Nets. He started the game, played 28 mins, had 13pts 5ast 6reb and 4 stl. I was impressed. Banks played an alright game, he had 11pts 1ast. The way he played defense yesterday made it hard to believe that he was last years Mountain West Conference Defensive player of the year at UNLV. He got into foul trouble with 5 personals. Its tough though when you are 6'2 going up against 6'4" 212 pd Jason Kidd and backup 6'7" Zoran Planinic. Marcus just needs some more time to get adjusted to the L.
