The west is too open now. In my opinion its between the Spurs, Twolves, Lakers, and Mavs (only if they improve on defense) I used to think the Kings would be there because they are so deep but their key players are aging.

As for the east the Nets have the best chance because K Mart/Jefferson are getting older and developing their game more. They also picked up Zo who could help on with the boards.

its not that im saying the lakers wont make it to the finals but they can if the chemistry is good in the team but if not then it would be hard for them to make it to the finals. but with shaq and malone in the paint at the same time plus gp and they got a nice little back up squad they would win the finals. just that i think the team might be hurting since they dont have kobe with them

The east is bad but not that bad...11 teams could make the finals in the east? please..the only teams I think have a shot at the finals in the east are of course Nets,Pistons,Sixers and Pacers....Maybe Magic because of Mcgrady..and the fact they seem to have got some help with Howard but even they are unlikely.losing in the 2nd round will be a good season for Orlando. As they really aren't as good as the teams I mentioned...

yall are crazy for thinkin dallas is gonna go..
They are still soft.. plus they lost nick the quick and i dont think jiri welsch is the answer

Im gonna say the spurs are better than last years team..
Rasho is better than Drob ( at his old age) Turk is better than jackson.. Horry adds depth.. They lose speedy but get a descent replacement, plus they add mercer..
But if kobe can get back in game shape, the lakers will lay a smack down to the spurs
Lakers vs nets in 5 ( another ass kicking for NJ aka the buffalo bills)

Newsflash...ALOT of teams have gotten much better since 2001...You guys really need to stop looking in the past..seriously.

Just wanted to add...the last 5 years the title has gone to Lakers or Spurs..so bare that in mind when you predict who will be in the finals/win it

I'm not looking at the past ...
everybody is lookin at toronto as a bottom 5 teams ..
and damt that ain't true .. last season was an excaptional case ... INJURIEEEES ..

    the real toronto team showed up in 2000- 2001 .. 2001 - 2002 ...

so don't count em out until u see ..
and at some point of the season I'm gonna remind ya allnet

Remind me of what exactly? Raptors will likely be no higher than 7th seed...they just don't seem to have enough talent to me..Bosh is their only bright spot in their future...Who do you seriously see them finishing higher than? I didn't say Raptors are a bad team or will be a bottom 5 team...they could be a playoff team if heathly...but thats a big IF...Same goes for the Knicks.

Yea people cant forget the miami heat either..
the east is just loaded with a bunch of average teams..
I think the magic are really overrated-- Lue sucks.. they have no guard who can defend the wings ( incl tmac) and we dont know if gooden and howard will play well together

What about them? The fact that they arent anywhere near making the finals? They have great young talent and will improve from last season but theres no way the Heat will be in the finals. What a joke

I say if Kobe is available the lakers will win it over the Nets. If no kobe then it will be the Spurs

I think the new additions will fit in perfect with the
t-wolves. They will play the nets in the finals but take an L in seven. K-Mart will be an all-star this season. And RJ will avg 16-18pts but he wont be an all-star

I say it's gonna be Lakers/Nets. But, that's gonna be assuming Kobe can play the postseason. If not, than the west will be a shootout. Anyone could come out of there this year.
