http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/bulls.asp?intID=37911183<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NEW ORLEANS - The pressure is on the Bulls with less than two weeks before the start of the NBA season. Not only are the Cubs out of the headlines, but the city's sports fans could use a little cheering up.

"We definitely feel like we're going to try to pick up where they (Cubs) left off," center Eddy Curry said. "We definitely want to give people something to cheer about."

Even though they are south suburban natives, Curry and Kendall Gill admitted feeling sad about the Cubs' loss Wednesday.

"I'm a White Sox and a Cubs fan," Gill said. "I'm still in shock. I can't even tell you. I think the whole city is trying to recover from this. We really expected to go to the World Series."

A group of Bulls - Curry, Donyell Marshall, Corie Blount, Lonny Baxter, Trenton Hassell and Roger Mason Jr. - watched the Cubs-Marlins finale at a New Orleans restaurant.

"I'm a Phillies fan. But since they didn't make it, I was rooting for the Cubs," Marshall said. "Yeah, I was bummed out. I kind of know what they feel like. They were up 3-1 and lost the series. My first year in Utah, we were up 2-0 in a best-of-five series and ended up losing to Dallas.

"I kind of know what they're feeling like, and that's a bad feeling. Especially when you always look back and say, 'This one thing could have won that game, that one thing ... ' You have a whole (off-season) now to go look at how you lost it."

Haha, Chicago sports fans NEED the Bulls to succeed. It'll be too depressing for them not to. Pretty much anything they do will be more positive than the Bears :thumbsdow

Im a Cubs fan and I refuse to watch the World Series unless there in it. Im going on a world series strike. They either need to Combine ths Cubs and Sox or start fixing the games like wrestling. lol

I still feel bad for that guy who caught the foul ball. I bet 99% of everybody at the game woulda done the same thing. He's gotta feel like crap. You can tell he was a big fan too, he was wearing headphones (to hear the play-by-play). No one wears headphones to the game unless they're big fans. Can you imagine listening to the announcers lambast you on the radio right after doing that too? Bet he felt crunchy...

You'd think the headphones would be pointless because of the 10 second (it's 10, right?) delay.
