    possible options

    1
    C - Steven Hunter
    Pf - Juwan Howard
    Sf - Drew Gooden
    Sg - Tracy McGrady
    Pg - Tyrone Lue/Reece Gaines

    2
    C - Drew Gooden
    Pf - Juwan Howard
    Sf - Gordan Giricek
    Sg - Tracy McGrady
    Pg - Tyrone Lue/Reece Gaines

    3
    C - Andrew Declerq
    PF - Juwan Howard
    SF - Drew Gooden
    Sg - Tracy McGrady
    Pg - Tyrone Lue/Reece Gaines

    4
    C - Stephen Hunter
    PF - Drew Gooden
    SF - Gordan Giricek
    Sg - Tracy McGrady
    Pg - Tyrone Lue/Reece Gaines

I would like to see them use the first one to start out the season, with giricek first off the bench to provide more scoring. You got tmac for the scoring, with some help from howard and gooden. Stephen Hunter hopefully can provide all we need at C, rebounding and defense. Finally Tyrone Lue will distribute the ball too tmac and let him do the rest, plus he is a good outside shooter, which we need a pg to be able to knock down the trey.

The second one is also nice, more scoring with giricek in the game. However, I feel that they are going to struggle inside with Gooden or Howard whoever it being playing Center.

The third one is probably what we are going to see, since Doc Rivers likes the hustle of Andrew Declerq. Personally, I'm not a fan, he has the engery, but he is very similar to Hunter and I feel Hunter is more athletic of a player. Id like to see Declerq bringing his energy off the bench. Good chance of this being the SL for opening night, but who knows Doc has surprised us before. (Pat Burke starting last year)

The fourth option is the same as the first only Howard would be coming off the bench, which I don't think will happen. This would give magic an outside game and still have some defense in the game in Stephen Hunter.

    What do you all think?

the lineup that i want isn't one of your options, but the 1st one will be the one most likely to happen out of your choices, i like that the most except that gooden should be pf and howard sf. here's the lineup i like

    c-stephen hunter
    pf-gooden
    sf-howard
    sg-tmac
    pg-shammond williams

I think that that would give us a strong bench with Pat Garrity, Gordan Giricek, Andrew Declerq, Zaza Pachilia, Britton Johnsen(I really like how he plays, he gives it his all and there was an article in the paper, that i will post that says that he likely will make the team), Tyronn Lue, Keith Bogans and Reece Gaines. We have everything on that bench. We have hustle(everyone), rebounding(declerq, pachilia, giricek), shooting(giricek, garrity, lue, gaines) slashing(giricek, britton johnsen), defense(bogans, gaines, pachilia, declerq). They form a pretty good bench, IMO. It's not as good as others, but i still think it's pretty good compared to our bench last year.

btw hope to see you posting some more here mcgrdmagic, we need to get some more magic fans to post here regularly.

When I was watching the preseason game last night, the goose jack givens(play by play announcer) said that britton johnsen might start opening night and we would have 3 forwards and no centers starting. What I don't understand is if they aren't going to start a center, why don't they just start giricek?

I dunno about shammond williams starting, i mean id like to see him start, but as from what I have heard it is going to be lue. I also heard the same thing about Britton Johnson. Doc Rivers must really like this kid, but I don't want to see the same thing happen to him as it did with pat burke and steven hunter when they started the last 2 years as a rookie. Also I think that howard would be the pf and gooden at sf.

in the 2 preseason games that i've watched, britton johnsen has really impressed me. he hustles every second, he always seems to be in the right place at the right time(for steals, assists, rebounds) i still wouldn't start him, but i think he should get some time when the season starts.
