Being from the land Down Under shane heal is a star here and I just happened to see he hit 17 points with 4 from 7 threes something that would be standard for the guy when playing anywhere bar the NBA does anyone know what his chances are of making the end of the Spurs becnh for the season perhaps to replace a guy like Steve Kerr

I've had the chance to see him play aswell, he basically beat the Breakers by himself in the NBL. I'm not even going to mention all his 3's vs the Tall Blacks. I think he will end up with a permanet 12th man spot, because San Antonio don't have much apart from Parker for PG's.

I disagree. We have 5 PG's on our roster.
    Besides Parker:

Jason Hart has proven that he can run the offense more than adequately. He's put up some decent numbers and more importantly he can rotate the ball and set up the play in a fearless manner. He should stay.

Anthony Carter was brought here as the primary backup for peanuts. He did an "okay" job in his first few games before his patella injury. He struggles a bit with his shot, but Pop will persist with him.

Alex Garcia is the injured guy on our IR. Pop seems to have some props for the guy. Pop picked him out during the World Championships and despite the language barrier, I think Pop will keep his hands on Alex to see how he works out.

That leaves Heal. Don't get me wrong, as an Australian I really like Shane, but I feel he doesn't fit in SA. Granted he was brought across to fill the Steve Kerr void, but he's shooting something like mid-20s from the field. I know he can shoot as I've seen plenty of him at NBL and international level, but I think the guy out of the 5 PG's that could be shown out the door.

Shane heal unfortunately has less then a week left in SA...he hasnt really brought much to the table.

Hart has proven that he is capable of being a great #3 PG , and IMO should be Tony's back-up...im not a big fan of Carter , his shot stinks. The only thing he brings is good "D" and thats about it.

And Pop loves Garcia so he aint going to let him go...look for Heal to get waived in the next week or so cause the SPURS dont want to be carrying 5 PGs when all they really need is 2...Tony and a back-up who will give Tony a rest and control the offense for about 10 minutes.

That's true, he was cuut, and after reading Mattyc's post it doesn't surprise me that Heal was cut. He would've been signed because of the Spurs injury status at PG. He may of done enough to sign with another team needing a 3rd or possibly 2nd PG because of injury.

Shane will apparently sign a short term contract with a European team to prepare for the Olympics.

Interesting situation for me. My (Aussie) heart wishs that Heal could have stayed around because he is a better player than he showed, but my head knows that realistically Heal was the man to go.

Lets give shane some credit though, i think it is great that he has been given a chance "AT LEAST" to play in the NBA..the T'Wolves in the 96-97 season and a tiny stint with the spurs this season...not many australian's have said that they have played in the NBA (5 players in total)..i just wish it was another team becides the Spurs that picked him up as there was of course a few point guards already established..well more so than shane in NBA competition.
