First he says this after the Nuggets v Raptors game <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">(On Toronto) They played great. Toronto played great and take nothing away from them, they played their game. They are the best defensive team in the league.</div> Then this after the Rockets v Nuggets game <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On the ease with which Yao Ming scored tonight: "It’s preseason and we come back and play these dudes next week. We don’t want to show them too much out there. You know he played a lot of minutes; I started, didn’t play that many minutes, so we’ll see him again next week." </div> So is Camby trying to say Yao did so well and dominated because the Nuggets didn't want to show the Rockets "too much" It sounds as if Camby thinks he will stop Yao next week in the season opener... Weird..
nothing wrong with the camby man. just gave the raptors props and didnt want to give too much away to the rockets. he didnt take anything away from yaos awesome game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting olskoolFunktitude:</div><div class="quote_post">Is Marcus Camby losing it? when did Camby ever have it ecxept when he was at UMass</div> Exactly. All he has ever been good for in the pros is second chance points...
Camby is no center. He did play well for the Knicks in the playoffs, then lead the league in blocked shots for the Raptors one year. A good power forward when healthy, however I can't explain these comments. Why the heck give the Raptors props?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NugzFan:</div><div class="quote_post">what? when hes healthy he is a top 5 center.</div> That's pretty funny.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting sunsfan1357:</div><div class="quote_post">That's pretty funny.</div> Glad to see I was not the only one to laugh at that.
Top 5 center? He is top 5 at something..most injury prone...but so far Grant Hill,Dice are just ahead of him in the rankings..but you never know that may change this season
He was never that great to begin with. He hasn't even played more than 65 games a season because he'd rather collect his checks. He'll always be an injury prone player. Theres no way in hell hes a top 5 center, or even ligament center at that. Power Foward- maybe.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting olskoolFunktitude:</div><div class="quote_post">Is Marcus Camby losing it? when did Camby ever have it ecxept when he was at UMass</div> haha, so true. what a bust.
i said IF HEALTHY, hes a top 5 center. considering most centers suck, this is a legit comment. true, he is rarely healthy but if he ever does get healthy, hes easily up there in the group after yao and shaq. so keep hiding behind the "oh haha...hes never healthy" quote while ignoring the point at hand. i dont mind. makes my job easier. and yes, he is a center. id love to hear the difference between a center and PF anyways. is it a height requirement? weight requirement? style of play (which is the same anyways). the two positions are basically the same and often interchangeable. which is what nene and camby will be doing.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NugzFan:</div><div class="quote_post">but if he ever does get healthy, hes easily up there in the group after yao and shaq..</div> no he's not. He's not even top 15.
lol. you are highly misinformed. and probably high. again IF HEALTHY, hes right up there. centers are very weak (duh). this guy can put up a double double and add blocks...that right there is a pretty darn good center considering most of them suck. however, we all know he wont stay healthy. i hope to get 50 games out of him this year.
what does it matter if some guy is top 5 or not? can he handle shaq or yao? if not hes just like every other center in the league.
He is no prototypical center though, so that whole argument is lame. Just for kicks, Shaq, Yao, Duncan (who to me has always been the center of that team) Ilgauskas, Mourning (hey you said when healthy right? So everybody applies)
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">can he handle shaq or yao? if not hes just like every other center in the league.</div> Actually it's more than just "can he handle shaq or yao". Having a good or decent center can boost a team up in the standings an enormus amount. King James, don't forget Brad Miller, Jamaal Magloire, Raef LaFrentz, Keon Clark, Brendan Haywood, Theo Ratliff, etc.
