KOBE is probably the best all round player in the game BUT....you cannot win without a dominant center in the NBA unless your name is Jordan. Look at the past few winners...OLAJUWON, DUNCAN/ROBINSON, O'NEAL. Kobe cannot win without SHAQ, if he did leave LA, he would be just like TMAC, a great player on a bad team, and going nowhere.
KOBE Fined by Lakers <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Just a few hours before the start of the regular season Tuesday, all was not well in Lakerland. Coach Phil Jackson fined Kobe Bryant an undisclosed amount for his highly critical comments of teammate Shaquille O'Neal, and the team met for 20 minutes to discuss a rift between two superstars that has escalated into a full-blown feud. "There were no signs or indications that it would snowball the way it has in a matter of 36 hours, so we'll see what happens from here," teammate Derek Fisher said. Bryant will not play in the opener against the Dallas Mavericks in order to rest his surgically repaired knee, which he said he was not sure was strong enough to withstand the rigors of a 48-minute game. He will join his Lakers teammates on the bench Tuesday night. The Lakers expected him to play until hearing otherwise Monday on ESPN. The other thing hurting Bryant was his feelings, and it appears there's no easy way for the Lakers to soothe them. Bryant castigated O'Neal during a telephone interview with ESPN, calling him "childlike," "unprofessional," "selfish," "fat" and "jealous." He also accused the 7-footer of overstating the severity of his foot injury last season when he reported to training camp overweight.</div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1648988
Shaq would bitch slap him all over the shop...and then kobe would make some Jordanesque comment shortly after like "im getting old"
Actually Shaq was pretty damn angry with what Kobe said..but a friend calmed him down.. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Before the game, O'Neal walked by reporters in the locker room and said, "I ain't never talking to you mothers. Get out of my face." A source close to O'Neal said he was feeling down about the entire episode. But there was anger, too, when he first heard Bryant's comments. O'Neal was said to be so infuriated, that at one point he spoke of physically confronting Bryant before a friend calmed him down. </div> http://www.dailynews.com/Stories/0,1413,20...1729762,00.html
