I don't know. This early in the season, it's not safe to say.

But my predictions are as follows:

-Kevin has the highest chance I think, he has proven it to us these past two years, but I think the issue will apply as it did in the Bobby Jackson case and his 6th man award. The NBA took shots because they didnt give it to him the previous year, but who knows.

-Kobe also has a pretty high chance, as this (his recent troubles) will most likely push him to do better, and give him more edge, and more passion for it.

-Tracy also has somewhat of a chance, simply because he is the only player on his team, and that means he'll have to go out there and get double-doubles almost every game.

Kobe isn't getting it, bottom line. No way will he get an MVP award on a team that has Payton, Malone, and mainly Shaq. Plus if the legal troubles aren't cleared away, do you really think the league will give it to him? Most likely not

I dont' think Kobe will get the MVP either. Yes, he has the ability. But there are too many stars on that team and more importantly, he has had too much to deal with in the offseason. He hasn't come into this season in shape or in the right mind set. It will take him until midseason to get into the flow of things, get his groove back.

I'll say TD until someone proves otherwise.

Tim Duncan...but if not I will go with Shaq....

No way Kobe should get it...He isn't even the best or dominating player on his team.

I honestly don't think any Laker will win it, at least if things continue how they are going now.

There is too much parity on the team. Any one of them can sit and they are still a great team. The even scoring, even boarding, good defense all around, it hurts any of them from winning an MVP.

    Tmac or KG.

If there was a darkhorse in this one, I'd have to say Paul Pierce, thats if he can lead a Walker-less squad to a high seed in the eastern conference.

Agreed Franchise, Pierce is a definite darkhorse. ATM I'd have to say KG or Timmy.

Tmac has NO Chance i mean he averaged like 32 last year and came in fourth place..
IMO this team is worst i know it wtill stir up controversy on here.. but just by adding howard doesnt mean your going to be better.. the team has looked like garbage.. if tracy is a 7 or an 8 seed not a chance
Itll go to duncan or kidd

The Spurs are playing like crap, but they were playing the same at this time last season as well. So with Tim it's wait and see.

KG and the Wolves just had the worst game of that franchises career, so the Wolves will have to get things together too.

    Kobe, no.

Shaq always stands a chance because everybody, even the players know that he is the MVP of the league, year in and year out. The only reason why he has not won it as much the last few years is because of his health. If he played 70+ games he will win the MVP.

T-Mac, no. His team will not have the amount of wins that his counterparts will have. Same for Pierce.

No player in the eastern conference should get it. The players out west have to put up with a lot more.

Shaq should win it. He should always win it, but I think if he doesn't get it, Duncan will. I expect KG along with his new help will just end up where they were last year. Tmac shouldn't win it either. He's struggling in a weaker conference. If he really was MVP-wrorthy, the Magic would be a top team in the East. I think Kidd is the only one that should be considered in the East. Game after game, he's out there, making his teammates better. Same goes for Duncan and KG.

Tmac finished 4th in voting for MVP and he did everything possible for the Magic. He plays like a MVP but i dont see him getting it. The east gets overlooked. Jason Kidd could be a serious contender. Hes done so much for the Nets, he changes the entire team when he is on the floor. That is MVP

Players in the eastern conference dont get much respect because it is SO weak. There isn't a dominate center that stands out like the west. A lot of teams in the east can get away with not having a center. In the west, if you don't have a solid rebounder or center it will be exposed.

Then again you have the players like Shaq, Duncan, and KG who dominate every single night. They have to go against stonger lineups and deeper teams on a daily basis.
