he is averaging 8 boards 3 assists 2.67 steals 13.3 pts on a team full of all stars, is this just a phase or can he continue it throughout the season and have the break out season laker fans have been waiting for?
Probably won't continue that well for much longer. He is in a hot streak and is hushing all the trade rumors. I think his production will for sure go down once Fox and Slava rejoin the team. He has been logging more minutes than usual; I think he got 42 last night!
I think he can keep up this pace, easily. As so many have put it, he has the greatest job on earth. He plays along side 4 future HOFers. George is going to be the one left alone off of double teams. As long as he can hit the open J, he'll continue to score.
Like what Rudeezy said, Deaven is open on just about every possession. He just needs to continue to hit his shots.
His numbers will die off a bit, but I wouldn't be suprised to see 10/6/2 from him on the season. Once fox is back as well as Salva George will see less minutes but that also means more quality time. The lakers wouldn't deal him. Especially now. He's producing. He knows the system. He knows the guys. They've spent too much time and money to give up on him this early in the game.
Wouldn't you prefer George starting ahead of Fox? Devin is a lot more athletic and brings some youth to the starting 5. I guess it really doesn't matter though. George will still get his PT.
I think the last line is most important. It may be a case of seeing where he plays best (as well as Fox.) If you play Fox with the other 4, you have another vet on the floor, whos main point is defense and physical play and he's deadly from beyond the arc. Have him play 20-25 minutes and George play the rest off the bench, maybe with some Walton or Russel thrown in. What you've done for yourself is not really degraded the starting 5 much but made your bench a lot more experienced, bigger, and overall, more deadly. But, also, my initial comment wasn't to neccessarily play Fox over george as a starter, but rather, George will play less minutes once Fox is back.

George is a perfect compliment to the Fab Four...all he has to do is make the right reads, the cuts, hit the open J and all of that other little stuff. His game revolves around him not having to handle the ball...as long as the triangle is being run properly, Devean has a very good opportunity to get 10/6/3 every night.
i would prefer George over Fox...i see him averaging a little over 10 points a game...he's the perfect compliment for the other four..and with Kobe out for some games, he's scoring is very much needed....who needs Fox's defense when you have the Glove and Shaq on the floor?
If you notice D George is usually the one late getting back to his man in a help or team d situation. Against the Suns and GS that lead to a few outside shots at the ends of clocks. Those games would have been blowouts if we could clamp down on the perimeter D and got back to our men sooner. Fox, assuming he hasn't lost any speed, would give us that.
