    Buss wants kobe back.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Kobe Bryant has held his ground, saying he will opt out of his Lakers contract at the end of the season and test free agency.

Owner Jerry Buss doesn't believe him.

"I certainly hope -- you can put that in capital letters if you like -- that Kobe re-signs," Buss told reporters during his annual meeting with the media at Staples Center on Sunday. "I guess my basic feeling is this is where he belongs ... I have faith that when it comes time, Kobe will be signed."

Buss said those convictions also mean he will not approve a trade of Bryant this year.</div>

    I have one word. Duh.

No one within the franchise (save what they think of him) would want Kobe gone. He IS a premiere player and he is one of the best to play the game. Period.

He's the franchises future. I just hope that the Laker org does what it needs to massage his ego as much as his pocket book.

There is no other teams besides MAYBE NY that can trade decent players(Lakers will get less no matter who he goes to, if he does) and have enough cap room. And why go to NY? No chance of a chip there..
