That's my pick too, thought he would have developed into a pretty decent player by now, would have helped if he was still on the Clippers, to still play with a lot of young players, and also be with some of his good friends.

Juan Dixon man, he's such a great player but too small, light and weak for the NBA. I'm afraid he might not make it like Boykins did....

I gotta agree with P_stojakovic and stevie on this one, i'm from cali, (not sayin' i actually saw dude play), but my dad used to ball in oakland back in the day and he's told me some of the **** he's seen and steviefranchise wasn't lieing bout this one, sounds pretty awesome to me. plus they got that documentary on him comin' out, Hooked, i think it's called, ya'll should check www.hookmitchell.com for the trailer from the movie, i don't think that was the stuff from when he was in his prime but it's still pretty amazing stuff.....

You assume that we know his story, explain what happened to him.

JR Reid....DAAAM! in college he was sick! I used to have to sit thru the games and watch him kill the Blue Devils! During his tenure at Chapel Hill he ruled the ACC. He was a journeyman player in the L,but he never reached the level of play he was capable of.

I'm going to go with Felipe Lopez. He came into St. John's and was supposed to be the next greatest thing coming out of high school, but he never really lived up to the hype.

I agree with whoever said Scoonie Penn. I really thought that he had a brighter future than Michael Redd back when they were together at OSU. (note: redscoon (my name) is a combination of these two) I'm not sure where he ended up, somewhere in Europe I believe. Redd has really surprised me and has become a far better player than I expected at the NBA level.

If you want to talk about underachievers, how about Walter Berry (St. Johns). He was the star on a team with Chris Mullin and Mark Jackson.

A little off-topic, but when does Hooked (the documentary on Hook Mitchell) come out?

I couldn't seem to find it anywhere on the site.

Harold Miner, Sam Bowie, Roy Tarpley, Felipe Lopez, Derrick Coleman, Pervis Ellison, Christian Laettner, Dennis Hopson, Pooh Richardson, Michael Olowokandi, Marcus Camby, Marcus Fizer, Todd Day, Shawn Respert: These guys were supposed "can't miss guys" at one time in their career, and unfortunately, none panned out quite as they should have. I think Isaiah 'JR' Rider deserves to be mentioned here also
