if i was L.A. i would do that trade because chandler is an up and coming star and you arent sure about kobe's future so...i doubt it happens though
Very interesting, too bad it didn't happen before the game tonight. (Bulls at Magic, to pit a battle between Kobe and Tmac) It likely won't happen, but it's not bad of an offer.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VAs Finest:</div><div class="quote_post">if i was L.A. i would do that trade because chandler is an up and coming star and you arent sure about kobe's future so...i doubt it happens though</div> i disagree. If this trade were to happen, it might go down in history as the Babe Ruth trade of basketball. As much potiential as Chandler has, he will never come near to Kobe. I would just gamble on kobe (if you want to call it that) and hope he stays.
i can see ur POV also, i would be happy with whatever because if this trade were to happen we would get something for kobe, but if it doesnt happen withc it wont, we could lose kobe at the end of the year and get nothing out of it
If I were LA I would take it and run. Chandler may never be Kobe be he'd be good off the bench (for now) and Rose is a solid starter. Kobe has too uncertain of a future and if you read my post in the NBA forum, he is taking too many shots. He has the most talent that the NBA has to offer around him. Even though he's a star he's not out of the water with the rape case. That's going to just be a distraction all season in LA and I don't think whether he is not guilty or guilty he'll never be the same player. He truly screwed himself with this.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ObieCent:</div><div class="quote_post">Ugh... Pax is a dumb(bleep) if he does this</div> I agree. Paxson would be dump to get a top 5 player for Chandler and Rose (that was sarcasm- for those who cant figure it out)
Hmm.........this is an interesting trade. But Kobe for Rose and Chandler straight up wouldn't work, but if you throw in Medvedenko it would work. I think it would also strengthen the comparisons for Kobe to MJ. I don't know though, I think it would be good for both teams.
No chance. The Lakers are not going to trade Kobe for potential and a falling star. Rose does not defend and he would not fit in with the Lakers. Rose is a great player, but he needs to many touches to get in the flow of a game and he would not fit in with the triangle. Chandler is up and coming, but he cannot shoot a mid range jumper and would get in Shaq's way inside the post. He would be an instant fan favorite because of his LA roots, but the Lakers can do much better than those two players. Kobe type players don't come around, too often. He's a superstar, young, and a proven winner. His off the court problems are a risk, but I don't think he's going to lose his case. There is, too much reasonable doubt for the jury to unanimously vote guilty. All he needs is one person to side with him among the jury and he's free to go.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vintage:</div><div class="quote_post">I agree. Paxson would be dump to get a top 5 player for Chandler and Rose (that was sarcasm- for those who cant figure it out)</div> I would rather have someone who has the potential to be great in the NBA and a guy who is already a good contributer for a guy who could possibly go to jail, (But i hope he doesnt!)
The Lakers would not do this deal. Even Phil Jackson couldnt fit Rose into the rotation. And besides they are trying to win a title this year not move to the future, Tyson is still a couple a years away and has no real offensive game. With Shaq,Karl,Horace he would struggle for more then 5 minutes a game. Maybe If they didnt have Karl and Kobe and Shaqs infighting was affecting their play, but also maybe if Pippen was 10years younger and he replaced Rose. Basically thay is to many ifs, buts and maybes so it aint goin to happen
Hmm....this would be an intersting trade for both sides. It would never happen though. Kobe, no matter what is going on right now, is far too valuable to LA to trade off for Rose, who, in all rights is a good player, but, he's struggling and is nowhere near Kobe, and Chandler, who, is up and coming young player. So yea, Lakers would never go through with this. Kobe is too valuable of a player for them to get rid of.
Not in a million years. maybe Jalen and Jamal. Or Jalen, Jamal and maybe (donyell, corie, marcus) but not tyson. He's not going anywhere
Bryant will not be moved until his legal situation has been cleared up. However, the Lakers would be foolish to consider this offer. Bryant will not be moved unless a name(s) like T-Mac, Garnett, Pierce or Lebron are involved. The reason for this is that any team that adds a player of Bryant's caliber without giving up one in return becomes an instant contender. While Rose and Chandler haven't even managed to compile a winning record in the Eastern Conference.

Tyson/Jalen for Kobe...too much of a risk for both teams... if Kobe doesn't go to jail, LA on the losing end of the deal...but if Kober went to jail, Bulls ends up with nothing...im not a Kobe fan but i think Kobe is a better choice than the two Bulls
