<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">WASHINGTON -- The Washington Wizards fortified their backcourt Wednesday night by obtaining guard Brevin Knight from the Phoenix Suns for seldom-used center Jahidi White. Knight has averaged 7.5 points, 6.5 assists and 1.8 steals over his seven-year career. "By acquiring a veteran guard in Brevin Knight, it will make our point guard position even more competitive," Wizards GM Ernie Grunfeld said. White played in only one game this season for Washington, which is deep in the front court. "Jahidi will have an opportunity to play more minutes with Phoenix," Grunfeld said. The trade was announced after the Wizards beat Dallas 100-90. "It helps us next summer with cap flexibility. We think it's good for growth," Washington coach Eddie Jordan said.</div> Link
This is a nice trade, Brevin is a solid backup guard who will not see many minutes behind arenas but can do if called upon and White can rebound and provide a big body in Phoenix something they have lacked since moving Big Jake. Certainly not a blockbuster move but a solid move for both teams

Wizards feel that Arenas, Stackhouse, Hughes, Dixion, Blake arnt enough gaurds for their team, so why not add another?
Please note that one of those guards (Stackhouse), is out with a knee injury and only Arenas and Hughes get significant playing time consistently.
Oh, btw, all the guards with the exclusion of Stackhouse, are early in their careers. Arenas is only in his 3rd, Blake is a rookie, and Dixon is a 2nd year man. Did you ever think that they wanted to add a veteran to that backcourt?
First off, try to avoid double posting on the same subject... and yes I realize that Stack is out with a knee injury and Dixion and Blake are early... but now they divide the playing time with 3 deserving players (Hughes, Knight, Stack [when he comes back]) leaving limited time (if any) to slowly bring in and develope dixion and blake.
Yea, sorry bout the double post. And it's Dixon for one, not Dixion, learn how to spell, lol, jk jk jk, don't need to get ripped on by a mod. But, Dixon, I think, had time to develop last season. And you forget, they can still bring one of them in in place of Jarvis Hayes, so, they're minutes won't be completely gone.

I personally think they would have benefited much more if the aquired a veteran big man.
Look for the Wizards to either trade Knight for someone or waive him..According to the Washington post.
Good move for Washington. I think White's worn out his welcome in Washington and isn't a big part of their rotation, and in return they get a guy who'll help the development of Blake and Dixon and they'll save around 5mill of cap room.
