    Lakers/Spurs

Spurs lead 49-46 at the half. Spurs looking suprisingly good without Parker and TD. Lakers playing a sloppy game with way too many TOs. Spurs are hustling after every ball and are playing with heart. How long this will last is the question.

The Lakers second unit are also looking suspect. Pargo and Rush have been very dissapointing. Lakers need Fox to get healthy.

Shaq is getting "handled" again on the defensive end. Nesterovic is scoring way too much. Last week, Dampier went crazy on shaq and had 20+ rbs and a bunch of points too.
He's playing great team defense though.

GP needs to stop the ball, because the spurs are shooting 50% at half, mostly in transition.

Lighting the Lakers up. Hitting the 3, blowing by Kobe. An amazing performance by Manu.

What an amazing game. They are now in the second OT. The Lakers are ahead by 4 and the Spurs seem to be tired. Lets see if they let up and quit or if they fight till the end. Get the ball to MANUUUU!!!!!

EDIT: Horry just came up with a HUGE 3 to tie the game!!!

How do the refs let Kobe get away with that travel?! He took 3 huge steps! Give me a break. I would hate to see this game end on a blown call.

Lakers win in the 2nd OT 120-117. Great all around game.

Kobe finished with a game high 37 and Shaq had 35 with 20 boards. Manu led the Spurs with 33 points and 12 boards.

It was a good game. Bad games from DGeorge, Fish, and Karl (yeah Karl had a lot of boards, but his shooting was horrible) is what shot them in the foot.

Shaq was playing well, the Lakers great start might be slowing up with very close past 2 games againt a under strength Spurs and the Bucks. Or they are just a lot better at home. Spurs really missed Tim Duncan in that game, Tony Parker would've helped to.

We can't forget the lakers are still meshing/learning one another and have an even shallower bench because of injuries.

Manu was SICK! He had 7 assists, 2 steals, and 4 bombs, to go along with the 33 and 12.

What a fantasy stud game! Good this guy is on my team [IMG]

After watching this game, I like the Spurs chances for a repeat, especially with Duncan and Parker healthy.

    Amazing performance from S.A

Manu was truely excellent...They just got tired in that 2nd OT and couldn't finish the job.Horry did very well..hit a big three to keep the game close in the 2nd OT period

A very worring sign for the Lakers..when they get take to double overtime with the best two players on this team out...But the Spurs played their guts out...Jason Hart was great as well..But once again Kobe gets away with a damn travel late in the game...just typical..

You can't take away the fact that the Spurs are a good team and are well coached. In the NBA everyone can play and on any given night can light it up. SA knew that this was going to be a tough battle and brought their "A" game. I think that there are some players who are role players in the League who could be stars under different circumstances. All this is to say that a championship team is still a force to be reckoned with, even with their top two stars out of the game.

This has to be a big shot to their confidence. The Spurs, without the back to back MVP and their #2 player in Parker, took this Lakers team to double OT and probably should have won the game.

If Manu keeps that up and the Spurs stay healthy, not even the Lakers will stop them.

You know what tho....getting their confidence shot was probably the best thing that could happen to them. You know they're going to try to make a statement next time when duncan and parker are in there.

The Spurs played with valiant effort and Ginobili is showing everyone what he can really do. I've liked this kid ever since I saw him play in the World Tourney two summers ago.

Yes, the Spurs were without TD and Parker...but lets remember that the Lakers are still gelling. The Lakers right now are heavily depending on their veteran experience more than the triangle offense...watch out for when everyone on the floor learns all of the offensive sets of the triangle.

Another thing you have to take into account is right now, Kobe physically doesn't have the quickness to guard Manu. Not to take anything away from Manu -- he's quick as hell -- but this game showed Kobe's knee recovery has slowed his lateral movement and change of direction significantly. It'll all come back though as the season progresses.

Great statement game by the Spurs...but the Lakers are still undefeated.

This was a great game, the Lakers didn't seem as aggressive, probably because Duncan was injured. The Lakers have done a bad job playing down to the level of their competition and not putting out maximum effort every game. Unfortunately for the Lakers, they are King of the Hill, so teams are going to play their best against them because the Lakers are the standard. Conserving energy for the long run is in the best interest of the Lakers, and they won't turn it on until the end of the season.

Manu was amazing, he played with a lot of confidence similar to how he did in International Competition.

I think Kobe is to blame for this close of a game. He took the game, too personally and tried to score on Bowen any chance he got.

Tonight is going to be another test for the Lakers and Kobe's knee. Baron Davis is playing great basketball and the Hornets are tough at home. Coming off a double overtime on the road is a tall order, even for the Lakers.
