Tim Floyd proved people wrong ! well .. this is the case .. without David West .. Without Jamal Mashburn .. and with a load of pressure on his back .. Tim Floyed took his team to 5 wins and only one loss to start off the season !! .. The players r buying into his system .. they're very comfortable working with him .. the front office r impressed with him .. and more importantly .. he proved that his Chicago experience failed cus of the punch players he had back then ( young ) !
Who ever thought he stunk as a coach just because he was with that Bull team is a moron. I am very happy to see him get a 2nd chance with a real basketball team.
With referral to my post in the Nawlins forum, like i said, he has got an unstoppable defense right now. Not sure how he does it, but somehow Baron gets 4 or 5 steals every night now, and in tha Hawks game they explained it a bit, they either pick off a steal or force the player to make a bad shot then get the defensive rebound, and their O is almost as unstoppable as well.......... Look out East Finals, here come the hornets baby!
Ok, all you people are so impressed with the job Tim Floyd has done, and that's wonderful. I just think I should add this, sure, he's winning right now with an injured line up, but, these aren't his players. Most of these players, Paul Silas brought in. He's winning with someone elses players. Yea, that's good, but, what about down the line when he loses em, will he be able to get his own players and win with them? Or when they move out west, can he use thes players he has right now and win out there? When he does that, than I'll believe he can coach. Until than, he's just taken what someone else has started and he's continuing it.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Moo2K4:</div><div class="quote_post">Most of these players, Paul Silas brought in.</div> ACtually, Silas was only the coach and so is Floyd. The GM is the one who actually brings in the players. They're GM ( i forget his name) is very good. He got a steal with magloire at 17th pick, he drafted the baron from westwood rather than overhyped odom, and made some other great moves too so he should get a lot of credit. I am of course ignoring the fact he was the one who traded Kobe I agree that its too early to assess his Flyod's job, but he's doin a hell of a job right now. That press defense with davis and armstrong is tough, and they have the big men in the paint to back that up. They are running a whole lot more than last year too.
Thing is, Tim Floyd can coach. Don't blame him for the percentage, blame the bulls. Yes, the guys are all pauls projects, but timmy's gonna show them what DEFENSE is. And they're followin' suit. It's not only that he is provin' people wrong, he wants to prove them wrong. That's what's leadin' to a great hornets record right now, and watch for it to continue............
Tim Floyd proved me wrong. Even with the terrible Bulls team he got I didn't think he had what it took to be an NBA coach. He has not only gotten my respect but I'm a believer the Hornets can win the east. Especially when they're fully healthy.
You people are buying this too early I think. It's only 6 games in. Remember, the season is 82 games, so, they still have 76 left. It's early, so, you can't expect them to keep this pace up for all year. They'll get to a point where fatigue will set in and they'll slow down. Plus, eventually, the fact that they're without their, well, 2nd best play imo, will catch up to them here soon. Davis will get tired because of the load that he's been carrying.
Tim Floyd is a great coach, just not a great developer of players. He's the sort of guy who will win with the right players, and he's proving it with a very good NO teams. Interesting to see what happens when Mash comes back, cos Diddy's taken over
