I dont think the people who made these shirts had racial motives. But stii, it's pretty sickening that people are trying to make money off this case. And for the police to consider buying these shirts is even worst... And about whether the case can be fair in eagle county, I read somewhere that census reports aprroximately 3,000 residents living in that area, 13 are black!!! That's significantly less than 1% (0.4% to be more accurate) Also, EAgle county police also has a history of singling out minorites. So yes, it should be moved...
Ok ... lets say that the t-shirt does not imply any type of bigotry or racism. Do people still get hung? Does Kobe even stand a chance of getting hung? Why is there a hangman symbol on the shirt at all ... why not have the remarks on the back and then something else on the front ... Kobe in black and white stripes maybe. What does the hangman symbolize? Anybody here saw Rosewood ... the true story of a black man accused of raping a white woman and the hundreds of blacks hung and lynched because of it? If someone on here can give a plausable explanation for the use of the hangman symbol on the shirt then I will concede that there were no racial implications.

A racist act, meant or not meant, does not affect only the person it is directed to but all those of his race ... so even if you have no sympathy for Bryant himself aren't you concerned about the moral implications of such symbolism being acceptable?
Where did the connection from the police to the tee shirt come from? Is there one? I thought the "Hangman" might just be a logo but I looked at the tee-company web site and didn't see that image anywhere else. It's very possible that nothing was meant by the use of the hangman image and that the only connection it has to anything is to the game itself.
I looked at the site too, did not see that logo anywhere else. I personally don't see a race issue here, but that is just me. They are just making money and giving Kobe some heat that he deserves for screwing up, typical.

I havn't seen anything on that shirt would suggest that. How in the world can you cheat on your wife and a wife who looks like Kobe's wife does...and he has daughter.The fact he messed around with a 19 year old ho (Which is true considering she slept with like 3 other men inside 3 days) according to the reports makes things even worse.

Are any of the guys that don't see a race issue here black? Maybe I am over reacting ... but the site has no hangman logo on their site and there just is no plausible reason for the hangman logo. Kobe is not going to be hung. Hanging has absolutley nothing to do with the game of basketball ... but I do know that blacks who "raped" white women were routinely hung and lynched. Even if it was never meant to be a race issue you have to admit it was severely insensitive on their part to order the shirts and it has caused an uproar in the black community ... even among black women who were appalled that Kobe would cheat on his wife after just giving birth to his daughter.
