<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After watching the Spurs unveil his No. 50 in the rafters of the SBC Center on Monday night, David Robinson grabbed the microphone and thanked his fans. Then he thanked the Baseline Bums.

And Peter Holt. Gov. Rick Perry. Manu Ginobili. Malik Rose. Bruce Bowen. Tony Parker. Steve Kerr. Danny Ferry. Gregg Popovich. His parents. His wife, Valerie. His three boys.

Robinson finally started to say goodbye, when someone mentioned that he had left one person off his list. The same person that helped make his two championships possible. The same person that made Monday night — Robinson's night — complete by leading the Spurs to an 87-78 victory over Utah.

    Tim Duncan?

"I can't believe I forgot this guy," Robinson said, pulling Duncan out of his chair and giving him a big hug. "Let me tell you, this franchise is in great hands."

The rest of the Spurs had to agree. On the same night they officially waved farewell to Robinson, they welcomed back both Duncan and Tony Parker.

After missing the previous three games with a sprained left ankle, Duncan totaled 16 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four blocks in 33 minutes against the Jazz. Parker, whose sprained left ankle had sidelined him since Oct. 17, had nine points in 29 minutes.

"What's good for a basketball team," Popovich said, "is to have all your guys playing together."

Though far from completely healthy, the Spurs were at least able to put their five starters on the floor for extended minutes. They hadn't done that since their third preseason game.

Duncan hit his first three shots and announced his return with a monstrous dunk over Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko.

"We had to shake that rust off a little bit," Duncan said. "I know Tony and I didn't feel as comfortable on the court as we normally do. It's going to take a couple of games to get that back, but I'm glad we're beginning to make progress."

Parker, who was making his first appearance of the season, was understandably more winded than Duncan. He missed all but two of his 10 shots.

"It was a big night," Parker said. "They retired David's jersey. Timmy and I came back. And we got the win."

Having lost three of their previous four games, the Spurs (4-4) were in need of a victory. Manu Ginobili, who led the team during Duncan's absence, delivered yet another inspiring performance, totaling 18 points, seven rebounds, three steals and one more over-the-shoulder, off-the-glass circus shot.

Good to see Duncan and Parker semi-healthy, the reason why I say that is they both only had around 30 mins, when they should be playing around 38-41. Now the Spurs can pick up even more.

Great to have a win, especially to send David Robinson off in style.
Parker was a little rusty, but Timmy was pretty much his normal self.

David Robinson is a class act. One of the few great people to ever play in the NBA.
