Such a move could send one forward -- either Juwan Howard or Drew Gooden to the bench -- or center Steven Hunter back to a reserve role. What Rivers could do is insert Giricek at small forward if scoring remains a problem.</div> Howard and Gooden are both starters. Just send Howard to the small foward and Gooden as a power foward. Not too hard.. Gooden coming off the bench will mess up his confidence. He is talented enough to start and has deserved a position. His last game was a solid double double. The two of them down low could very easily become a problem. PG- Ty Lue SG- Tmac SF- Howard PF- Gooden C- Hunter/Zaza The lineup looks good to me. GG could very easily start but he could be a great second unit player as well. Zaza has suprised me. He is still very raw but he grabbed 6 rebounds, and scored 7 points in just 16 minutes against the Bulls. Not bad for a 19 year old rookie.
Juwan Howard does not play SF, Gooden would be a better choice for the 3 spot and put Howard at the 4.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Raindrops:</div><div class="quote_post">Juwan Howard does not play SF, Gooden would be a better choice for the 3 spot and put Howard at the 4.</div> Drew struggled at Memphis last year @ SF. He should be the Magic's PF for the next 10 years... He really found his groove when he became the every night PF. Given the choice, I'd move Howard to the bench. (Maybe they could even change the rotations around so that when Tracy goes out they send a lineup in centered around Juwan?)
I agree. I think Gooden is too valuable to bring off the bench. I think it would ruin his confidence. There should be 2 locks in the starting lineup every game, and that's Tmac at SG and Gooden at PF. The rest of the spots should be rotated around. Gooden struggles at SF, so don't play him there. It's common sense.
Howard is now coming off the bench. Gooden is back in his comfortable position at PF. The big question it seems now is who to start at SF, Giricek or Bogans?
Giricek must start ahead of boogans the problem with this lineup is that when Juwan comes on Gooden is again out of position and this is hurting the teams flow. The other thing is Lue is not a starting quality point, he is a player that is better served as providing some shooting, speed and ball pressure off the bench. It was a huge mistake letting Darrel Armstrong go. They are also missing Garritys shooting. This team needs a deal but they are the only really bad team so far so nobody is that interested in a deal. Anyone got any ideas for Mr Gabriel of who he could move matbe they could add a guy like Jamal Crawford
Nope, Only thing is giving up Giricek, and that won't happen. Lue has looked good actually. I think he has earned a spot in the starting lineup with his play. Well our big weakness is our 2nd unit. We lose close to 8-10 pts every time our 2nd unit came in. So that's why Giricek and Howard will likely be on the bench to give spark.
