Rose & Crawford for Spoon & Othella BULL MARKET: A Chicago newspaper reported that the Knicks and Bulls are discussing a trade that would send Jamal Crawford and Jalen Rose to the Knicks for Othella Harrington and Clarence Weatherspoon. Although the Knicks are not crazy about Rose, they would do that deal in a New York minute. A league source scoffed at the report. The Knicks have tried to acquire Crawford for the past two years. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketba...7p-122553c.html As you can read the new york daily news reported this possible trade. Their would be no way that Chicago would agree to this deal straight up. The gain to more power forwards to go with Fizer, Marshall, Chandler, Curry, Blount. Also this deal straight up does not pass realgm.com. There would need to be more to it. Maybe if the Knicks include Ward to free up 20million in cap space next season. Chicago trades: SF Jalen Rose (16.0 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 3.9 apg in 35.0 minutes) PG Jamal Crawford (13.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.6 apg in 29.9 minutes) Chicago receives: PG Charlie Ward (8.7 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 6.5 apg in 27.0 minutes) SF Clarence Weatherspoon (2.4 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.4 apg in 9.8 minutes) PF Othella Harrington (5.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 0.1 apg in 13.2 minutes) Change in team outlook: -12.9 ppg, +1.2 rpg, and -1.5 apg. New York trades: PG Charlie Ward (8.7 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 6.5 apg in 27.0 minutes) SF Clarence Weatherspoon (2.4 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.4 apg in 9.8 minutes) PF Othella Harrington (5.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 0.1 apg in 13.2 minutes) New York receives: SF Jalen Rose (16.0 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 3.9 apg in 11 games) PG Jamal Crawford (13.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.6 apg in 10 games) Change in team outlook: +12.9 ppg, -1.2 rpg, and +1.5 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Analysis for Chicago Still talent wise a dud trade for Chicago but Ward could at least backup Hinirich and hopefully for them Jay Will will be back next season allowing ward to go. Depth Chart Hinrich/Ward Gill/Robinson Pippen/Robinson//Marshall/Fizer Chandler/Marshall/Fizer/Harrington/Weatherspoon Curry/Blount/Harrington Analysis for Knicks The Knicks get their man J Crawford a favoutrite of Layden. They also get some scoring help in Rose however his contract is ugly and he plays best at the 2 the same as Houston. Depth Chart Crawford/Eisley Houston/Rose/Anderson Rose/Van Horn/Anderson McDyess/Van Horn/Thomas Thomas/Mutombo/Doleac I have to say this deal seems unlikely it almost needs a couple more teams so that these two teams who are both overloaded up front can move more pieces around
This is another possiblity to the above deal it would allow the bulls to rid themselves of another mistke Eddie Robinson New York trades: PG Charlie Ward (8.7 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 6.5 apg in 27.0 minutes) PF Othella Harrington (5.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 0.1 apg in 13.2 minutes) New York receives: SF Eddie Robinson (3.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.2 apg in 17.1 minutes) PG Jamal Crawford (13.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.6 apg in 29.9 minutes) Change in team outlook: +2.8 ppg, -1.8 rpg, and -0.8 apg. Chicago trades: SF Eddie Robinson (3.5 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 1.2 apg in 17.1 minutes) PG Jamal Crawford (13.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 4.6 apg in 29.9 minutes) Chicago receives: PG Charlie Ward (8.7 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 6.5 apg in 10 games) PF Othella Harrington (5.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 0.1 apg in 9 games) Change in team outlook: -2.8 ppg, +1.8 rpg, and +0.8 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED
Surely Chicago would be able to do better than that for Crawford and Rose, even if there are disciplinary problems there.
True Roses stock has continued to fall ever since he left Indy and Crawford is unproven 20mil in cap space if used correctly could bag them some veteran help.
Remember last time Chicago had capspace? They managed to attract Mercer and that was it. Also, why do the Knicks want Rose? They traded for Van Horn for a reason, have Houston as well.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sir Desmond:</div><div class="quote_post">Also, why do the Knicks want Rose? </div> Because Layden has a forward-fettish .
The way way the Bulls would consider this is if they are just clearly cap room and nothing else.It seems clear they want to lock up Chandler and Curry up for alot of money and years...This way they can do that by freeing up more room.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting B-Ball215:</div><div class="quote_post">not gonna happen.... it would be a joke to see Chicago pull this.</div> i dissagree bulls want to rid cap and if you wave ward before the new year you get 4 mill of the cap, and we all know chicago has expressed interest in orthella but rose will not be involved in the trade, i think it will be E robinson and crawford for ward harrington rights to milos vigunic and this years 1st, if this deal happends doc rivers will be coaching the knicks

Adding Vujanic and a first rounder, and not having Rose as part of the deal pretty much weighs the balance in favour of Chicago.

The second deal is the second part of the thread + Vujanic and a first rounder which I dont think the knicks want to give up also would like to hear the rumours which Dice and Z
its taken from espn insider so i cant post it for legal reasons but really the jist of the deal is 1 on 1 dice for Z, give knicks the Center we disire and it give cavs either a athetic foward who can take you to the playoffs or if he is injured his contract comes off the books, either way cavs get cap from it. on the knick/bull deal the knicks really would get 2 athetic young talent for little in return, i mean does it matter that we give a 1st round pick when we get the young atheltic guard we need?
