BY LOOKING AT THE STATS YOU CAN TELL WHY THE TRADE FOR TMAC WOULD BE A BETTER DEAL FOR THE LAKERS.

I really wish that I didn't have to explain this.....

Kobe has less points because he has more people to share the ball with.

Kobe has fewer boards because he has Shaq and Malone to get boards.

Kobe has fewer assists because GP is there to handle the ball.

Kobe is shooting better than Tmac overall.

The stats that you listed don't prove jack....

Exactly. The Lakers actually have a balanced team.

    McGrady is their only offense.

Kobe doesnt even need to rebound. He has the two headed monster down low. The Magic don't have a strong frontcourt for the rebounds. Two power forwards don't equal a center. Tmac must rebound.

Yeah. Tmac could easily play point guard for the Magic. He has been seen doing during parts of the game.

    Yup

You can't compare them by stats..Not this year. Tmac has no help so he has to do more. Kobe has 3 future Hall of Famers so his role is a lot different.

Laker fans would revolt if Kobe got traded. And BTW- those stats mean nothing so far.

If they traded off Kobe, I don't care if it was for TMac, I'd be pissed. Kobe has more big game experience. Plus, overall, I think he's the superior defender. I mean, their offensive skills are as equal as 2 NBA players can get, but, he's a much better defender than McGrady. Plus, the Lakers have a chemistry with him in the line up. Trading him off, that'd screw it all up.

Yeah Kobe's a way better fit for the Lakers. If TMac couldn't even co-exist with VC in Toronto, how is he going to manage with 3 other future Hall of Famers? Like Moo2K4 said, Tmac has no big game experience. The few big games that he did play in, he got shut down. His team was up 3-1, and they still lost. That's just inexcusable. There's no way that Kobe would have let his team lose a 3-1 lead and the series. Kobe's also a better defender.

Kobe can break down a zone defense...if I remember correctly, TMac admitted he can't.
