McGrady blasted them all, calling them "haters." "I had nothing to do with Doc getting fired. All this stuff is funny to me." ESPN analyst Tim Legler, a fomer player, questioned whether McGrady was selfish. "That all surprises me," McGrady said. "There was something one (Legler) analyst --- or so-called analyst ---- said. People who are around me everyday know me. "Call me selfish? Everybody knows what I do not only on the court but away from the court. "I could take 30 shots a game but I don't. But I'm selfish? "He said I don't play defense, that all I do is score the ball. I got to do a lot for this team. . . .Tim Legler? I don't remember him playing." McGrady said he never met Thompson. "If these people have something to say," McGrady said, "come say it to my face." </div> Even if Tmac did take 30 shots, he wouldn't be selfish. He is the only all-around player on that team. Just look at the Denver game. He scored 51 and did it all..his teammates weren't there.
Thats BS, their 2 top shooters have been injured, and T-Mac does only want to get the ball in his hands to live and die with his scoring. Maybe he should sit down a few games and let some of these other guys can do without him. Gooden can get 15, Giricek can get 15, Howard can get 15, so these team has some scoring around him, they are just not playing together, and T-Mac must be the one to change that.
Yeah but they haven't showed up as a team. Hopefully Johnny Davis will change that. If Gooden/Howard learn to play together and Giricek can return to his old self, things could turn around.
Critics always have something to say. They call Kobe selfish. I mean dang. They called Iverson selfish (please dont mention them in anyother post im just using examples). Now its Tmac. These critics are probably nothing but Laker fans (no offence but they are ALWAYS the ones saying something) The game has changed alot since then. Maybe Tmac needs to take 30 shots one night because nobody else is doing nothing. Hell if I was him Id take 30 too. Its sad though... I just cant see why folks just cant leave people be. I soley agree with him though, Why cant they just say it to his face?
What ground does that hold? I point the finger right at T-Mac to blame this on him. Real leaders take full responsibility for their teams outcome, I know that would be the only way Magic or Bird would call it. Take it like a Man T-Mac, stop your cryin' and do something about it.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">T-Mac does only want to get the ball in his hands to live and die with his scoring. </div> Have you watched any Magic game other than the Nugget game(if you even watched that)? Do you know what your talking about? I know you are a smart guy, but Tmac doesn't shoot enough. All he has been doing lately is driving to the basket and dishing it out for a player to either brick or turn the ball over. He could have had a layup, but instead dished it out unselfishly for our player to brick it. An example, last game, down the stretch, he dished it to Derrick Dial with 2 secs left in the game. Why the hell do you dish it to Dial? That was the 1st game he was on our team. You were in the paint, shoot the ball Tmac. The point I was trying to get at was Tmac should shoot more, not shoot less.
I said it before the year in the "TMac is captain" thread, he really isn't captain material. He hasn't yet grasped how to conduct himself in the media which makes the team look bad. The captain basically represents the team, when the captain doesn't take responsibility and goes on tangents with the media it makes the whole team look disorganized (which right now the Magic are, but they don't need McGrady adding to it).
