<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Report: Toronto may get Bulls' Rose in multi-player deal Nov. 21, 2003 SportsLine.com wire reports CHICAGO -- The Bulls and Raptors are reportedly close to a trade that would send swingman Jalen Rose to Toronto. In exchange, Chicago would acquire forward Jerome Williams, guard Alvin Williams and guard/forward Morris Peterson. WGN radio in Chicago is reporting that the deal could also include forward Donyell Marshall going to the Raptors with Toronto center Antonio Davis going to the Bulls. Rose, who is in his 10th NBA season, is averaging 15.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this year. The 30-year-old Rose has been in Chicago since the 2001-02 season when he traded from Indiana on Feb. 19, 2002. The Michigan product was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the first round (13th pick overall) of the 1994 NBA Draft before he was traded to Indiana where he was with the Pacers for five-plus seasons. In 687 career games, Rose has averaged 14.4 points, 4.1 assists and 3.6 rebounds per contest. Rose was reportedly ticked off earlier this season by being labeled as a scapegoat for early season losses. Rose was pulled out of the starting lineup of a November 8 game against New Orleans. Rose had started in 323 straight games until that point and said he was angry about being benched by head coach Bill Cartwright. Jerome Williams, 30, has played with the Raptors since 2000-01 and is averaging 5.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per outing in 11 games this year. The eight-year veteran began his career in Detroit after being chosen with the 26th overall pick in the 1996 draft. Alvin Williams is in the midst of his seventh season in the NBA. He was first drafted by Portland in 1997, but was traded to Toronto after having spent just half a season with the Trail Blazers. The 29-year-old is averaging 9.0 points and 4.1 assists over his career, but is posting only 2.6 points per game this year. The 26-year-old Peterson has averaged 12.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game during his four-year career. Peterson was selected out of Michigan State by Toronto with the 21st pick in the 2000 NBA Draft. Peterson is also struggling this year as he is averaging just 6.5 points over his first 11 games of the 2003-04 season. Marshall, who is in his 10th professional season, is averaging 9.3 points and 6.5 rebounds this season for Chicago. The Connecticut product is playing for his fourth team as he also had stints with Minnesota, Golden State and Utah. The 35-year-old Davis was first drafted by Indiana in 1990, but did not play until the 1993-94 campaign. Davis spent six years with the Pacers before he was shipped to Toronto where he has been since 1999-2000. For his career, Davis has posted 10.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. </div> http://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/story/6853311
????? I dont get it, we have a logjam at PF and in this trade we lose 1 and get 2 back. Also, i'd rather have rose than Mo Pete, and i'd rather NOT HAVE JYD AND AD TAKIN TIME FROM TYSON AND EDDY! Also, we arent getting rid of E-Rob so this trade doesnt really help us
cap notwithstanding(i don't like numbers)...Toronto will get the better end of this deal...they badly need a 2nd scorer...
This trade makes no sense to me. They get rid of Jalens contract but get JYD's shitty one in return. They also get ANOTHER Pg in Williams, when next year they will have (presuming Jay is back) Jay, Jamal(presuming he is signed and isnt traded), Hinrich, and newly aquired Williams. This obviously shows Hinrich isnt ready, Jay wont come back, Jamal wont be resigned.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting B-Ball215:</div><div class="quote_post">DO IT BULLS DO IT!!! (this is coming from a Raptors fan)</div> Give us Vince and we'll do it LOL Jk, Vince would take away shots from Eddy, Tyson and JC anyway
trade doesn't look too bad to me. Bulls get a PG that they want. Bulls get a back up Center in Davis and a good back up PF in jerome. I really wouldn't have a problem with this trade.
I don't like it. I'm fine with the Bulls wanting to trade Jalen, but Marshall is the most consistent player this team has. I'd rather have whatever burden Jalen might present us as long as we still have Marshall.
I love it ! .. we get both Marshal and Rose .. I didn't like at first .. but now it really helps <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Give us Vince and we'll do it LOL</div> good one

Besides the fact that we have poor coaching, we cannot play defense worth a lick. Why AD? He provides leadership, experience, and defense at the 4/5. Hmm..... We sure could use that. Chandler is a good weak side defender, but his man up defense needs work. I won't even say anything about Curry's defense....its not needed since we are all aware of it(or lack of it). Davis fixes that problem. Not to mention he has 2 years left on a contract after this year, whiler Rose has 3. We have been trying to find a veteran to help us....here it is, on a silver platter. Yes, it will take time away from Curry and Chandler. But if they aren't playing well, they don't deserve time. Maybe, just maybe, Chandler and/or Curry aren't the answer. Yes, they have potential. But everyone goes around and acts like they are going to be superstars...... Are we really sure of it? What makes them different, than say a Joe Smith when he first came into the league? At least this trade gives Chandler and Curry a veteran mentor to look up to. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting obiecent:</div><div class="quote_post">Give us Vince and we'll do it LOL Jk, Vince would take away shots from Eddy, Tyson and JC anyway </div> You aren't serious, are you? You wouldn't want VC on our team? He'd give us a scoring punch WE NEED. This post could be the worst I have seen to date. VC would make us better instantaniously.. Who gives a damn if it takes shots away from Chandler, Curry, and Crawford(who will most likely be gone after this year anyway)? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting slamduncan21:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't like it. Sure, Id love to dump Jalen and his no defense, 39% FG%, and 3 year contract....... And Toronto desperatley needs a 2nd scorer. Why can't we keep Marshall? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting obiecent:</div><div class="quote_post">I dont get it, we have a logjam at PF and in this trade we lose 1 and get 2 back. His contract is horrible, he never plays, and when he does, he gets hurt. Williams is what we need. A hustler. A scrappy defender. Someone who gives it all. Ill take him in a heartbeat. Plus, he is versatile, and can backup the 3/4. He is what ERob is supposed to be. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting beasly3:</div><div class="quote_post">This trade makes no sense to me. And he is becoming a problem. Williams contract is much better than ERobs, as at least JYD earns his check with scrappy defense, hustles, and the other little things that are needed. Chicago doesn't want Alvin Williams anymore. They want Peterson since its unclear of how healthy Williams is. So that isn't a problem anymore. But yes, one PG of the Williams/Crawford/Hinrich trio will be gone next year. Id bet on Crawford.

Trading him means Chandler and Curry have to be ready to play every night. They aren't at that point yet. Davis has been an enigma this season. He hasn't been nearly as effective as he has in the past. Losing Marshall is a large loss, as he was always on the court in the waning minutes in close games. Not to mention, we go to him down the stretch for post scoring, something Davis has been inept at doing thus far this season. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Not to mention he has 2 years left on a contract after this year, whiler Rose has 3. </div> But who will replace Rose's scoring? A mentor can only take you so far. At some point, talent has to show through. Again, what makes you so sure Chandler or Curry wont have Joe Smith like careers?
