I dunno why, but, it's kinda surprising to see someone averaging less than 30 and leading the league in scoring. Blocks, didn't realize that Theo was doing such a good job with it. The field goal percentage really doesn't surprise me. Shaq takes most of his shots at the rim anyways, so, it should be high. Free throw percentage, I don't know if Smith should be number one. I'm thinking he probably hasn't shot nearly as many as Peja has. But, yea, that's just my little rant about this.
Zach Randolph, nuff said. Baron Davis could well be the MVP at this early stage too, having an awesome season and leading the Hornets fantastically without Mash.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sir Desmond:</div><div class="quote_post">Zach Randolph, nuff said. </div> Zach Randolph is having an absolute monster year so far. His stats so far are absolutely amazing. Tonight during the Rockets/Blazers game on ESPN they are referring to the Blazers at "Zach Randolpp's team". Here is how Zach Randolph ranks against other NBA players Ranks #18 in the NBA in Points Per Game(20.3) Ranks #6 in the NBA in Rebounds Per Game(11.6) Ranks #11 in the NBA in Field-Goal Percentage(0.521) Ranks #19 in the NBA in Minutes Per Game(38.5) Ranks #9 in the NBA in Field Goals Made(88.0) Ranks #2 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds(48.0) Ranks #2 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per Game(4.4) Ranks #13 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds(80.0) Ranks #12 in the NBA in Defensive Rebounds Per Game(7.3) Ranks #6 in the NBA in Total Rebounds(128.0) Ranks #16 in the NBA in Points(223.0) Ranks #5 in the NBA in Double-doubles(7.0) Ranks #14 in the NBA in Field Goals Per 48 Minutes(9.96) Ranks #17 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(5.4) Ranks #9 in the NBA in Total Turnovers(36.0) Ranks #4 in the NBA in Total Efficiency Points(277.0) Ranks #3 in the NBA in Efficiency Ranking(25.18) Ranks #4 in the NBA in Efficiency Ranking Per 48 Minutes(31.36) Ranks #9 in the NBA in Turnovers Per Game(3.27) He should win the Most Improved Player Award if he can keep these numbers up.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting purehoops:</div><div class="quote_post">Garnett another MVP 'by the numbers' season.</div> Yep - Garnett's production is as sure and consistent as it gets. Duncan is becoming another every-year-MVP candidate.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting VinnyMack:</div><div class="quote_post">Yep - Garnett's production is as sure and consistent as it gets. Duncan is becoming another every-year-MVP candidate.</div> Duncan has been an every year MVP candidate since his rookie year.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Nylex:</div><div class="quote_post">LeBron's second in minutes played, behind Allen Iverson.. jesus.</div> What are you complaining about?
How is he not surprising you with his play this year? Granted I think he is a very good player, but I never expected him to be putting up MVP type numbers while doing them consistantly. If the season ended today he would most likely be the MVP of the league. He has simply been playing amazing ball. Teams in the past could just back off on him and not let him drive, now they have to get up on him because of how well he is shooting the ball this year. ? Ranks 2nd in NBA in Points Per Game (25.2) ? Ranks 1st in NBA in Three-Point Field Goals Made (50) ? Ranks 7th in NBA in Minutes Per Game (40.1) ? Ranks 3rd in NBA in Assists Per Game (8.1) ? Ranks 2nd in NBA in Steals Per Game (3.15) Not to mention his team is tied for second in the Eastern Confrence. He is playing the best ball out of any player right now, in my opinion.
The reason I said that Baron isn't surprising me is cause, well, quite frankly, I think a lot of people at least thought that he was capable of doing this if he was #1. And I was one of them. So, his ability to produce offensively really hasn't surprised me. Cause, everyone knows of the talent he has, he just wasn't able to fully utilize it in a #2 role. Now he's able to do everything he used to and than some as the #1 guy down there. That's why he hasn't surprised me this season, cause, with Mashburn out, everyone knew that Baron was gonna have to step his game up a notch or two. And he has.
People like to Hate on Tim Duncan for winning MVP- but his numbers back it up, although KG is the best player in the league, I think A.I. is losing respect with the league, he should be up there in voting also
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">What are you complaining about?</div> It didn't look like complaining to me, he was just stating a fact. And I'm thinking he said Jesus because thats a lot of minutes for a rookie to get even one as good as LBJ.
Erick Dampier is having a monster of a year. He is leading the league in rebounds and most double-doubles.
