Too me, this is the biggest joke statement ever. Kobe is sacrificing so much of his offense to work with the team. He showed tonight what he is capable of, yea shaq makes it easier to score, but Kobe can score whenever he wants.. The lakers completely killed a really good team tonight,
What did yall think of his game tonight?? Im a little upset Kobes points are down this year, along with assist and rebounds. I think the assits are down becuz he doesnt have to handle the ball as much this year..
I cant wait til 04 where Kobe gets his own team and proves how talented he really is

I don't think Kobe will mind that his stats are down cos the team is winning. He knows, we know and everyone on the planet knows what he's capable of, but I think it's a real credit to him that he's sacrificed his personal numbers for the team to an extent - something that shows a level of maturity from last year.

Kobe is maturing right before our eyes. When Kobe begins dishing the ball and letting the game come to him, it is real beautiful to watch. I would like to see him have his own team, I think it will be a bigger challenge then he expects. Then again it depends on which team. Lets just hope he's still around to have this chance.

its early in the season...come playoffs, i see the suns slippin into the 8th, maybe the 7th spot, and the grizz maybe crackin .500

That's probably pretty accurate, but at the same time you can only judge a team on what they have achieved, not what they might achieve, so at the present time the Grizz are arguably a better team than the Suns, certainly their equal.

Kobe can win without Shaq. But without a 'shaq' level player, any team Kobe runs would be a team like KG, TMac, JKidd have been on.

Kobe makes any team a playoff lock. He can make any decent team a conference contender (especially in the east) But thats where it ends. Just one guy won't take you there.

The Lakers had an impressive win tonight, it was amazing, BUT all cylinders were clicking. A trained chimp could have played in Kobes place, and everyone else would have still made it a copetative game.

Slava, GP, and Karl all played amazingly well.

I agree here with what is being said about Kobe showing signs of maturity this year. Lets face it, we all know this kid is something special and we know that he can score when he has to. He is realizing that he doesnt have to drop 25-30 a night like he had to last year for his team to be successful. With the addition of Malone and Payton, Kobe is able to play a much more relaxed game, knowing that he doesnt have to take a shot every time down the court. His numbers might be down however the Lakers are winning; and in the entire realm of basketball, winning is more important then individual success.

Its a great sign, that he is willing to sacrafice his numbers for the good of the team. He is being a leader for the Lakers by being a "team" player.

when all of us said that Kobe can't win much without Shaq, it was the time when Kobe wants to force and get every points...but if he can keep this level of maturity up, Shaq and his big mouth is in big trouble...

of...and i wouldn't say Kobe was all alone during this win...Tmac is alone...VC is alone...but not Kobe...he had Karl and GP...[IMG]

I completely agree. Last years early season lakers were playing horribly. Kobe didn't deserve all that heat he was getting. When Shaq came back, they were still losing.

The thing is that Kobe CAN WIN without shaq, he just wouldn't have gone as far as he had (3 rings).

Kobe played well last night and sure it was against the Grizz but...

Even MJ had to have good players around him:

    -Scottie Pippen
    -Horace Grant
    -Bill Cartwright
    -Toni Kukoc
    -Dennis Rodman
    -Luc Longley
    -Steve Kerr
    -Jon Paxson
    -Ron Harper

Don't gimme this crap about Kobe can't lead a team.
