Neither really, but if I really had to choose, i'd say rush because at least he can get a few points in garbage time. They both suck though and hopefully we wont have to rely on them anytime soon
Kareem Rush is the player I want to see develop most on the Lakers bench. He has a great shot and was a great scorer in college. His game has become one dimensional in the triangle offense, because the Lakers want him to primarily shoot from 15 and out. However, Rush has the complete offensive game and once he learns how to defend better he'll slowly gain more minutes in the Laker rotation. Unfortunately he plays second fiddle to Kobe Bryant, so we won't see much of Rush anytime soon. Pargo is, too streaky for the NBA in my opinion and he cannot defend in the post. He's undersized and larger guards take full advantage of him inside the paint. Pargo was exciting to watch in pre-season and summer leagues, but he will never be a starter in the league.
I personally want to see more of Rush. Originally the Lakers had been playing him as a ballhandler/initiator for the offense...but that's not what he is. Rush is not a ballhandler...he's not a playmaker...he's a scorer and a finisher. The ideal situation for Rush would be having other ballhandlers on the floor so he would just concentrate on scoring. Why not GP? Because he's one the bench when Rush is on the floor. What about Pargo? The guy sucks when dealing with pressure...notice how teams always fullcourt press when Pargo's on the floor. Fisher? Kobe? Both of 'em are doing more scoring, less ballhandling nowadays. Maybe Luke Walton will blossom into a playmaking point-forward... As for Pargo, like I said, he sucks when dealing with pressure. Also on offense, he typically doesn't get his points from the offense...he gets it from doing his own thing like running the break or taking an early shot. Maybe if Pargo was on a team offense that required a PG to run the show, he'd be ok...but the triangle offense doesn't require a traditional PG. Sure, you can make the argument that GP is a traditional PG...but at least he can score in context of the offense. In the past couple summer leagues, I've loved watching Pargo run the show. Particularly when him and Slava are on the floor together...however when you look at the big picture, Pargo just doesn't fit in with the Lakers in the long run.
i would rather like to see more of rush..i think he is a pretty good player, and should get a little more playin time
I'd rather see none, but if I have to pick one Pargo. Rush plays with NO heart what so ever, he's lazy on the defensive end, and all he has is his shot. He simply does not fit on this Laker team.
I'd defenetly would want to see more of Rush. Sure he's a lil' hesitant at times, but he's like that when he isn't in a rhythm yet. Once he gets consecutive minutes instead of 4 here and 4 there, then he's efficient. Pargo on the other hand is too out of control, and he's TO prone.
I agree with Purple N Gold. Neither of them. Rush has a good shot for a left handed shooter, but no defensive intensity at all. Pargo simply looks like a rookie that doesn't know what he's doing. He dribbles up and down the court, passes to his teammates, and whenever he gets that opportunity to shoot, the shot is way off. If this Laker organization can get these players off the team, that's cool with me.
Well we won't see any of them anytime soon anyway  . Last year we would look at the Lakers bench and would be forced to put in players like Pargo and Rush, but with the depth we've added, they won't add any impact to this team as of now. You think Rush is not getting time now, just look when Fox comes back.
