<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kingofcrossover:</div><div class="quote_post">vc is the most overrated player ever to come out of UNC (or any college for that matter) but look at him. all he can do is dunk! whoopde dooda id rather take that whole list 'o guys over vc-AND AI-U GOTTA HAVE THE ANSWER BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</div>
Another post by a hater. For your information, Vince Carter is 1st in the raps in scoring, 2nd in assists, 2nd in steals, 3rd in blocks, 3rd in rebounds, and 3rd in games played. Thats not too bad for a player who can only dunk. Plus, he is one of the most under rated passers in the league, he would have a ton more assists if the raps could can open shots and not waste his great passes.

Vince is definately selfish. Do you remember him missing a game to go to his graduation? He has put himself above his teammates numerous times and he wants the glory, but never wants to shoulder the blame when the team loses.</div>
If you are gonna talk, get your facts straight. He never missed a game for his graduation, his graduation took place on the day of Game 7 versus Philidelphia, and if memory serves me correctly, he did play. Bananna head, he went to the graduation during the day then went to the game.

This was something interesting to me, the guy on Virtual GM on NBA TV gave out his annual awards today, and his tough guy was Ron Artest. In his explanation, he labelled 3 or 4 guys who were as he said, 'tough as nails' this season, Vince Carter included. Maybe Vince's image outside of Toronto is different that what we think?

You're talking about a 20/5/5 guy who is probably one of the most popular players in the NBA. He makes All-Star teams even if he doesn't play a single game, casual fans love him, hence teams are gonna want him!! We now know he can't carry and team and isn't really a leader (runs in the family I guess) but teams would still want him.

Depending on the team, I think the Raptors could get something valuable for him. It's hard to come up with deals where it's just one player, in all likelihood Carter would be packaged with Alvin Williams and possibly others to a team like the Clippers where Toronto could get Maggette and maybe a future 1st or package him with others. Or maybe Chicago could give up some Baby Bulls and/or 1st rounders for him... I do suspect if he's traded it will be a large market team -- he can draw fans as well as anybody else in the league.

I still feel he's worth a good amount. I still put him up there with Paul Pierce and Shawn Marion in terms of trade value, even if his game isn't as good as it used to be (though 20/5/5 isn't anything to scoff at) his popularity is more-so than most NBA players.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">Their was also something about him leading his team to losses and 60 point games, it was from a while back when the Raps were still at .500, but when you score 25 and shoot 47%, pass to your teammates and they just keep missing, their is nothing you can do. How did the Raptors fall? Vince missed a few games and they lost them all (Rose and Alvin were out too).</div>

They were a four game losing streak and they were about to beat The Spurs until Carter got injured and the Spurs went on a run and they won. They lost 10 games with Carter out and as soon as he came back they won. In the losing streak everyones numbers went way way down. Now dont say Carter doesnt make anyone play better like someone said.

They should trade Carter in a package deal with Jalen Rose, that way they can dump some salary and have room to aquire talent worth Jalen Rose's paycheck. Doing so would open the door for free agents like The Nash.

i look at Carter as Allen Iverson, VC does not have that many supporters, same for AI. Jalen Rose is not a point guard, that is why Rose have some many Turnovers, Bosh is not a center. I think the raps should trade Rose to spurs for Malik Rose and somebody or to the Blazers for Dale Davis or do a sign-and-trade for 'sheed, or trade for Dawight Howard. They should get better bench player too just like the Griz(except VC will play more than 30mintues per game)

I think, if VC could stay healthy, his trade value would be higher. But, the fact he hasn't been will decrease it slightly. But, things that will help it are his talent and popularity. I agree with something stated earlier that his leading ability is lacking so that's not gonna help. I would think that a trade for someone like maybe Maggette or Marion would work, but, I highly doubt that either of those teams would give up either of those players.

#1 vote getter in 04 all star game.....
and is one of the leagues premier dunkers.....

what he lacks is respect, but it makes up for it in popularity.....
Vinsanity is the AI that behaves himself.....
    must be all the injuries....

but id be willing to package a 1st and a player at him....

This thread is about what people think Carter's trade value, and maybe about where he might play next season. Many people come in "The Rumor Mill" to discuss trades and things like this, but we never really go into the Raptors forum. Therefore I don't think this thread should be closed.

I can see Carter being dealt next season because the Raptors didn't make the playoffs, but I don't think they'll be able to get another superstar for him. I could see 2 or 3 quality starters and a pick going for him, though.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Spaz:</div><div class="quote_post">Twolves trade 05 1st round pick and Kandi for VC and Bosh [IMG]</div>

Let me get this straight. The Raptors will receive one of the lowest first round picks in the 2005 draft and a guy who's been injured for the past two seasons for an nba all-star and a guy who could be the next Garnett/J.O'Neal..... excuse me a minute [IMG]

I actually like Kandi and think he would be great on the raptors (assuming he stays healthy) but you're just asking for WAY too much there. Any Raptor fan can tell you that there's no way in hell we'd let Bosh go.

There's a good chance that Carter will get traded in the off-season seeing how our new GM would probably want to start fresh and not be forced to build the team around VC. But on the other hand, he probably wouldn't want the Raptor fans to hate him for getting rid of the most popular Raptor in franchise history. hhmmm, I have no idea what's going to happen in the off-season.

The Raptors would be crazy to trade Carter, particularly when they're about to add another lottery pick to a potentially formidable nucleus. People forget that Bosh is playing eerily similar to someone who plys his trade in Minnesota. Carter, a developed Bosh, a plug-and-play guy like Ben Gordon plus Rose and Marshall... the Raptors could do some damage.

That's without working the financial decline that would result, an loss of loyalty by fans. Carter is the Toronto franchise, like it or not, and the Raps are definitely on the up... beliedat playa.
