Well if you all havent heard already, it appears that the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors have agreed on a deal that sends Rose, Baxter and Marshall to Toronto in exchange for Antonio Davis, Jerome Williams and Chris Jefferies. I dont really know what to think about this. Although i love the toughness of davis and jerome, I just believe we should have got more in return.... what do you all think??? here is this link rose trade

Why, I don't understand. I thought that Chicago was trying to make the playoffs this year. By doing this, I think that it's just gonna kill their chances. They lose their top scorer in Jalen Rose and than they lose Donyell, who was also doing a good job, and Lonny Baxter. In return they get an aging veteran in Antonio Davis, a great rebounder and energy man in Jerome Williams, and Chris Jeffries, whom, I've never heard of. Well, this should prove to be an interesting year now. I expect that Jamal will probably have a lot more pressure on him to score. Same with Kendall. But, yea, Jamal is definitely gonna have to find his stroke for the rest of the year if this team has any chance at all.

[IMG] This sends some of my favorite players away. I always thought Baxter was going to be very good, Marshall is our most consistent player, Jalen is our ONLY and i mean only scorer. And we didnt get rid of E-Rob??WTF?
(I wouldnt be as pissed off if we got rid of E-Rob's contract)

Oh. See, I didn't realize that cause he's had a lot of bad games. I mean, he went through a 3 game stretch where he didn't start and averaged about 6 ppg, than the injury, than came back and did good. He may have been the leading scorer, but, it must not have been too high. I knew Donyell was averaging 12 and Jalen 15, last I knew Jalen was only getting like, 11 a game. Hmm, oh well. But, nonetheless, he's gonna have to step it up even more without Jalen and Donyell. Same with Kendall and Eddie Robinson.

Lets say the LA Lakers lost Shaq (last year). Just because Kobe was their leading scorer, he wouldnt have to step up? [IMG]

I like getting rid of Rose in this deal. What I dont understand is getting rid of Baxter. I really think he was going to be a good player. He is one of the few players that hustle every game and every play. I am sad to see him go. Jalen? Good ridense. Marshall? Meh, he wasn't amazing, but he did a solid job. I did like him, but he can be replaced. Basicly we just get tons of **** back, but I dont care.

Actually the more I think about it, the more I like this trade. I mean really, I don't think the Bulls did very good with Rose and Marshall. If the Bulls were winning, I would understand the complaints. The Bulls are pathetic even with the both of them. So its not like it hurts the teams winning or future since both are old.

But in my opinion, this shows how great of a gm Paxton is. He basicly told Jalen he would not be traded and what does he do? Trades him. He doesn't give a **** about that players and I like that. His job is to win, not to be friends with the players. Nice job Paxton.

Truely, that could the dumbest comment I have ever heard. Its so wrong, its not even funny.

GMs care about there players. They have to. It makes it a good environment, and causes less problems than if they just didn't care.

Second, if a GM gets a rep for not caring about his players, FAs wont come to that loacation, wont want to play for that team, and when it comes contract time, try and leave the team.

Thats NOT what you want. Paxson cares about his players. Trust me. They may have a player or two they don't get along with, but for the better of the franchise, they will give a damn.

Rose has been a cancer for every team he has played on, good riddance to bad rubbish.

Less can be more in this situation.

Lonny was the only guy aside of Chandler who hustled his ass off every night. I hate to see him go. Anyway, I guess this will be our new lineup...

    C-Eddy Curry/Antonio Davis
    PF-Tyson Chandler/AD/Fizer/
    SF-Kendall Gill/Jerome Williams/Scottie Pippen
    SG-Jamal Crawford/Scottie Pippen/Kendall Gill
    PG-Kirk Hinrich/Scottie Pippen/Jamal Crawford

We cant trade Jamal now, we desperately need his scoring

Yea, that's about the lineup I was looking for. The only other difference in it is that Kirk Hinrich may be listed as the point, but, I wouldn't doubt to see Gill play it. The point spot is probably the most important spot and also the most difficult. I truthfully wouldn't want a rookie, well, at least a rookie who has had the turnover problems of Hinrich, playing that spot. That's the only thing. Or, they might just completly take Hinrich out, start Gill at point and start Fizer or Williams at the small forward. I dunno. We'll see when they take the court next week with this new team.

very good way of putting it!

Someone wanted rose. GET RID OF HIM! take him! Here, take these guys too!, just as long as you take Rose! Basically, that's what Paxson was doing.
