After pulling down at least 20 rebounds for the first time this season in Detroit's 87-73 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night, Wallace was putting himself through a strenuous weightlifting session. Wallace's work ethic rubbed on off his teammates, as he was just one of three Pistons to finish with a double-double. Mehmet Okur had 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Tayshaun Prince had 13 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. Wallace scored 10 points. "Ben was great, but Mehmet looked like Bill Russell or Wilt in the first quarter," Pistons coach Larry Brown said. "And Tayshaun just keeps getting better and better." Okur started in place of Elden Campbell, who was excused to attend a family funeral. Wallace (six) and Okur (five) also combined to block 11 shots. Detroit won its fourth straight and sent the Heat to their fifth straight road loss. Richard Hamilton had 18 points for Detroit, which had all five starters in double figures. Miami's Lamar Odom led all scorers with 22, but made just 11 of a career-high 31 field-goal attempts. </div> Memo Okur is truely a beast on the boards...him and Wallace are a great duo on defense...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">Memo Okur is truely a beast on the boards...him and Wallace are a great duo on defense...</div> Is this the answer Detroit is looking for to get them to the NBA Finals? Okur/Wallace fill the middle nicely. Should Elden come off the bench? If Prince continues his ascention, coupled w/ Rip/Billups, is this the best team in the East? Can they beat the Pacers and the Nets? I would like to see Corliss play a little better. He is not as sharp as he was last year as the best 6th man in the East. He will pick it up again.
