<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Cavaliers finally put it all together with their rookie leading the way.

    No, not THAT rookie.

Jason Kapono, the Cavaliers' less-hyped first-year player, scored 16 points and Darius Miles added 15 as Cleveland snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 95-85 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night.

"I just tried to come off the bench and play solid," said Kapono, who went 6-of-8 from the field and made two 3-pointers in 22 minutes. "That's my role."

Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 19 points and eight rebounds for the Cavs, whose reserves outscored Atlanta's 44-10 and led them to just their fifth win -- and first since beating the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 18.

"Everybody was clicking at the same time," said Cavs forward Carlos Boozer. "The bench gave us a great game."

The Cavs withstood a season-high, 43-point effort from Atlanta's Shareef Abdur-Rahim, who went 17-of-27 and added 12 rebounds.

"We couldn't stop him," Cavs coach Paul Silas said. "We did everything we could think of."

Jason Terry had 14 points for Atlanta, which has dropped four straight and six of seven.

LeBron James had only eight points, six rebounds and five assists. But Cleveland's rookie star made a big steal late in the game, picking Abdur-Rahim clean and hitting a layup with 2:57 left to help the Cavs, who had recently blown several games in the fourth quarter, hang on.

"We've been in so many games down the stretch that tonight we finally came together and got it done," James said. "We knew we had been here before and said, 'Let's close this out and get a win."'

The Cavs got a huge lift from their second unit. Chris Mihm had six points and eight rebounds, and Kevin Ollie chipped in with six points, four rebounds and three assists in 19 minutes while running the point with James on the bench.

"Coach said before the game, we need a big play from everybody," James said. "Tonight, everybody picked it up."

He was fine, just got banged up after driving to the basket, which was a good sign.
