<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The rumors have been out there for months, the Nets having interest in Portland's Rasheed Wallace. Now, in light of a Nets' losing streak and the Blazers' constant trips to the bail bondsman, there are "lukewarm" conversations again regarding a swap involving Wallace and Kenyon Martin, a league source maintained last night. Wallace is on the last season of his contract, worth $17 million, so the Nets would need to package Martin ($5.12 mil) and likely Kittles ($10.27 mil) to land in the ballpark. </div> http://www.nypost.com/sports/nets/43608.htm
I'd do this trade. Nets Reasons With Sheeds 18 mil expiring you can resign him for much less, who is still a productive player and could run the Eastern Conference. They'd also have the needed money to re-sign Richard Jefferson and maybe sign some other players. Blazers Reasons Would get rid of their bad boy once and for all. If they are able to retain K-Mart then him and Zach Randolph could be a force for years to come.
Kittles and Martin for 'Sheed... No way man... Kittles is such a good defensive stopper... And K-Mart ... Well, he's quite good... Plus the nets got the risk they lose 'Sheed too if he opts out...
this is definately not worth it for the nets... sheed is getting old and i dont think he is worth kittles and martin
As a Nets fan, I wouldn't get rid of K-Mart and Kittles. K-Mart has been a beast off the boards this past few games. He's showing signs of maturity. Big things will happen to this guy. I just hope he doesn't ask for much.
I think we should get a package deal going that involves Kerry Kittles for a 2guard that can create his own shout & score in the half court. I think Jalen Rose would have looked nice in a nets uni before he got traded to the Raptors. K-Mart not going any where. he & RJ are the future they will be around after JKidd is retired.

Besides, he's young and still getting better and Wallace is approaching the end of his career. Kidd is the Nets best player, but K-Mart IS the Nets. No way you get rid of him. Kittles is only an average NBA starting two guard, and he's overpaid, but his skills mesh well with Kidd and the team's strengths. Unless you can get a superstar to replace him (and that's highly unlikely), it's not a priority to replace him.
