I wish we could sign him again, but I don't think its possible. One of the major reasons he was traded was because he didn't fit into Kevin O'neils offence.

JYD isn't a free agent he has like 5 more years on his contract. I dont really miss him now that we have our new Junk Yard Dog Lonny Baxter.

agreed, you have to give up good players to get good players...we lost jyd, but look who we got now

plus jyd gambled on D a little too much...hes a good player, but not worth what we were sacrificing in cap space. id rather have donyell any day

Its touching to see JYD is still wearing his raptors shorts...toronto misses him so when he comes back to T.O, it'll be great, Davis, im not so sure about, he was always complaining....

but JYD will get over it soon enough....as for Toronto....GG made a great move...Donyell makes up for JYD (not with the fans) and Jalen Rose is much more of a threat(in my opinion)then AD

Winning will ease the fans' suffering. JYD is a class act and he knows how to work with what he has. I don't think that people are sad to see him go as a player as much as for the person he is. It's nice to have at least one ex-Raptor who we won't have to boo when he comes back to play in Toronto.

JYD is a great person but a terrible basketball player. He is one dimensional. Not a proven scorer, an average defender at best. Undersized to cover a big man, and too slow to keep up with the forwards. Typical player that Grunwald would trade for. Keep in mind, Glen thought the 6th man of the year was not good enough so he traded for a nice guy with a nick name

JYD is a great human being, his off the court persona, and continuous work in the community will truly be missed. However, on the court, how can you justify paying a cheerleader over $6M per year ? Furthermore his jump shot is more flat than a supermodels chest.

Dude, JYD's greatest contribution to the team doesn't show in the stats. The way he dives for loose balls, etc. However, sometimes these doesn't cut it to be on the team. That's why they let him go.

I'm a fan of JYD. He's also one of the fan-faves.

typical player that GG would trade for? do jalen and donyell fit into that catagory as well? how about corliss who we traded for too? you just bigged him up, now your saying that JYD is a typical player he'd trade for? methinks you talkin some smack here. were you even watching when corliss was on our team? he NEVER would have been a 6th man of the year on the raps, because he didnt fit into our offence. he just wasnt a good fit in raptor land, so we got rid of him...JYD always logged good minutes for the raps, and resigning him was essential in resigning vince, so GG didnt make such a bad move after all did he?

simple...we paid him whatever it took to keep him a raptor, because by resigning him, antonio and alvin, vince inked a long term deal with us...id think youd agree that keeping vince around is a pretty good idea. GG has made some bad moves, but hes also made some GREAT moves, like resigning vince, and the deal that brought over jalen and donyell...plus lonny might pan out to be a great player...hes got mad potential im sure you'd agree. i hope GG stays

and by the way...this quote is garbage:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If you love the Dinos, but hate hearing another speech after a bad season, holla at your boyz!</div>

one bad season...DUE TO INJURIES! two years ago, we made the playoffs, and almost to the second round, thats pretty good without vince. last year we sucked, and also set an nba record for man minutes lost due to injuries. that quote is crap

doesn't show in the stats? I guess 50+ wins seasons also don't show up in the stats. If effort counted for wins in this league then yes, JYD is an NBA Champion with the Toronto Raptors. But guess what they don't. JYD was, is and always will be a role player. Rebound, provide a spark off the bench, then sit back down. In fact the one thing he failed to do in TO was protect the star player. No one in this league feared fouling Vince, because they all know there is no one there to repay the debt. So really he was a minimal role player at best.

Obviously your admitted fan status has you thinking subjectively rather than objectively. The man played centre at Georgetown, if he played anywhere else at any other position I would bet that he does not even get traded. In fact he should thank the Zo's, the Ewing's for paving his way to the NBA. Non-stat players should not be taking up just under 10% of your annual salary budget. Think about it, $6 million to wave a towel. Come on, and a non-stat towel waver at that...

If you guys think that signing JYD was essential to keeping Vince, then why bother with this team. What we have is a city full of Vince Carter fans, but not Raptor fans. Grunwald also signed Hakeem, the Nightmare, or did you guys forget about that ? He also paid AD over $12 when there was no team in sight looking to pay him that much. Lets not forget Grunwald created this team, but he is also destroying it.

Still, a shitty season is a shitty season. Don't try to sweeten it with injuries. We have a chance in getting home court advantage, we're fourth in the east (last itme I checked). I like the way how JYD does that, can't wait till we play Chicago at home.
