I just thought i would post some current rookie stats: Carmelo Anthony: PPG 18.8 RPG 6.7 APG 3.2 SPG 1.16 BPG .95 FG% .400 FT% .758 3P% .365 MPG 35.4 Lebron: PPG 16.5 RPG 6.9 APG 6.4 SPG 1.30 BPG .65 FG% .399 FT% .700 3P% .315 MPG 40.0 Chris Bosh: PPG 11.0 RPG 6.3 APG .6 SPG .74 BPG 1.63 FG% .473 FT% .746 3P% 1.000 MPG 31.9 Jarvis Hayes: PPG 11.2 RPG 4.7 APG 1.6 SPG 1.37 BPG .32 FG% .398 FT% .750 3P% .270 MPG 34.6 Dwyane Wade: PPG 14.1 RPG 4.3 APG 4.2 SPG 1.39 BPG .56 FG% .402 FT% .763 3P% .200 MPG 35.7 looks like Carmelo has the edge for Rookie of the year if they dont do Co-Rookie, but the season is still young
Hinrich may sneak up on some people. Hes been playing very well of late, and has been racking up the minutes.
Melo is leading by a mile right now, his team winning his # are top notch for a rookie(except fg%) & he is producing in the 4qtr of close games. It wouldnt shock me if he starts in the all-star game.
Carmelo has really picked up his game as of late and is the front runner as of now. However, it is still VERY early. This could go back and forth for the whole season.
Jarvis Hayes has been struggling a lot lately...he cant hit the open jumper...last game he started hitting it, i wonder if he can pick it up or he has already hit the rookie wall
I'm still spoiled over the rookies of the last 2 seasons fellas. Next year ain't lookin' all that loud, but we will see, people always leave early. As for this year Udonis Haslem deserves some pub too.
I think it's Melo right now. His numbers are starting to get better. He's starting to rebound more, he's hitting his shots more now, hence his FG% going up, the only thing about him is he's not distributing the ball as well as LeBron. But, Melo was drafted as a scorer, and really, that's what he's doing. So, I don't think you can knock on him for not getting the assists. My opinion, Melo is front runner right now. His numbers show it and the fact that his team is winning helps a lot to.
bosh is not in the debate. its melo or bron. thats it. how is it that melo can get more boards than bosh in similar minutes too? both teams cant shoot well so there are a ton of boards to be had.
LeBron or Melo, that?s it, like NugzFan says, Bosh or Hinrick are good players, but the other two are the best, doing it very well since the begining.
Bosh had a monster game today . But as of now, I would have to go with Carmelo for the front runner for ROY. He's picked up his game lately, and is lifting that FG%.

If we didn't count the record I'd say LeBron is having a better season just because there's NO excuse for Bron to rebound more the Melo, but Melo's winning games so right now it's his ROY award. I do want LeBron to win it though.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MVPlaya:</div><div class="quote_post">What do you mean there is no reason? Camby/Nene?</div> I don't think you could say there is no reason, but Melo should be rebounding more on a consistent basis. It's been said, that all he can do is score, and imo sometimes that is the case. If he's having a bad shooting night and it shows with his FG%, he should be averaging out more in other category's.
He usually gets to the line now...avgs to get there 6 times a game And 7 rebounds a game isn't bad...
Normally when Melo has a poor shooting game he makes up for it by getting rebounds and assists. Many times when he scores big he doesn't get many rebounds. He is a good rebounder that is a fact...If you look at boxscores you make a judgement about his game but unless you watch the games you have no idea what he brings to the Nuggets team.
