Now, we know that the West is dominating the league record wise. And we also know who the West is being dominated by mostly, the Kings and Lakers. But after Toronto's trade, New Orleans playing well without Mashburn, and the Pacers who have the best record in the East, the picture is looking very interesting. Who REALLY is the beast of the east. Toronto is looking like a whole different team with the trade that acquired Donyell Marshall and Jalen Rose. Chris Bosh is a solid player off the bench, but I still think Toronto needs that big man, and most of you all would probably have to agree. I can't see them getting anywhere if they don't find that big man. Now on to New Orleans, Baron Davis is playing like the MVP of the league, and has led his team to the 2nd best record in the East, without a all-star in Jamal Mashburn. David Wesley is doing his regular thing, averaging about 17 points a game, Magloire is nearly averaging a double double, and PJ Brown who is also nearly averaging a double double. Darrell Armstrong was a nice addition to the team, giving them a spark off the bench and some leadership to the team. Immagine how scary this team will be when Mashburn comes back, hopefully they can keep playing well down the strectch, not knowing for sure how long Mash is going to be before he returns. Then you have the Pacers, who have also been playing well from the start led by Jermaine O'neal and Ron Artest who has been playing amazing ball. They look like the team to beat in the East so far, they have a solid starting lineup, and depth on the bench. If they continue to play well like this, and stay healthy, these guys might be team taking a trip to the finals(but still to early to get into that). Then you have your Nets, who have struggled, also need that big man, and the Sixers, who I don't think can contend with the top teams in the East, but still a interesting team to look out for, and of course your Detroit Pistons, who are always up there contending.
paragraphs might be easier on the eyes... just a suggestion Also, didn't Bosh start today? I think its either the Pacers or Raptors right now... They have J'oneal, Reggie, Artest, Kenny Anderson, and Pollard with a strong bench. Tho Raptors look like they can also be number 1... Rose, VC, Marshall... and Mo Pete off the BENCH. I think Sixers will be a different better team when G-Rob comes back...
pacers. most dominant lineup, artest scoring alot more, great big man in JO.. i wish they didnt trade brad miller
yea...bosh is starting now, and hes already a pretty solid big man...give him a couple years and he'll be ringin up 20 and 10 a game they still need a center, but even with the line up they are running, i think the raps are one of the top teams in the east now.

Jason Kidd won't just let his team lose.
Nets are going to win the east again, they pick their game up another notch come eastern conference playoffs. Its gonna be just like last year Pacers are gonna lead most of the year and then fade as teams start to step there games up in time for the playoffs, Pistons are going to be on of the top teams but they just dont have enuf to run with the Nets. The Hornets will be the Nets hardest Competion because Baron Davis is the only eastern Conference point guard that is capable of out playing JKidd in a seven game series. But Davis has been very inconsistent in the playoffs over the years.

Team to beat SO FAR is the Pacers...but Pistons are right up there same with the Hornets.Nets look out of it so far.But as we know things can change quickly in the east.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">Team to beat SO FAR is the Pacers...but Pistons are right up there same with the Hornets.Nets look out of it so far.But as we know things can change quickly in the east.</div> Oh yea I can't believe I didn't left out the Pistons. Pistons have a great team, Billups, Rip, Prince, Wallace. Thats a lineup you can't go wrong with... I think they can contend with the Pacers. They have everything they need, besides a great offensive force inside. Them and the Raptors are close... but Pacers are the team to go with right now.
Nets played like this last year too, then in the playoffs just outworked everybody, even beating the Pistons at their own style of game. The Pacers can beat them, Ron Artest being the key as long as he keeps his cool. Got his first technical foul call last night as a matter of fact.
Difference is the Nets started off real strong last year then got bad in the 2nd half of the season. It could be oh so different this time.
Nets is the Beast of the East. Everybody's after them. Their biggest nemesis? The Pistons. They have a great line-up. I'm not afraid at all of the Pacers and the Hornets.
Ok, firstly, whoever said the Raptors are the beast of the east, explain, how? They are getting it together right now, as they are 4-0 since acquiring Rose, which, is really what they needed cause he gives them another scorer. But, I don't think they're in the elite yet. I think it's the Pacers. They're playing simply amazing ball right now. Artest is having a career year, O' Neal is playing fantastic, and Al Harrington is been a great 6th man this year. They're playing better than anyone in the East right now. I think, as of right now, they are the team to beat. But, than again, I guess that also belongs to New Jersey, as they are still the 2 time defending Eastern Conference champs, so, whatever way you want to look at it. But, nonetheless, it's Indiana right now.
The Raptors look pretty good right now, and so do Indiana. The Nets have been disappointing, look for a trade before the deadline. My money is on them reviving the Rasheed Wallace deal, the Blazers GM has a major crush on Kenyon Martin. Nobody in the East needs a center, cos nobody apart from the Cavs (who suck) and the Bulls (who are still young) have true centers. Ironically, the Pistons do have one of the better centers in the East in Mehmet Okur. The Sixers, Pacers, Pistons, Raptors and Hornets are all going to make the playoffs. After that it really is anybodys. My money is on the Nets, the Celtics, and the Knicks making it out too. The East really is horrible though.
