The Jayhawks held the No. 1 ranking for just one week after replacing Connecticut; the Huskies were on top for the preseason and the first two weeks of the regular season. Stanford, which beat a No. 1 team for the third time in school history, had the week's biggest jump, moving from 21st to 13th. No. 2 Connecticut (6-1) and No. 3 Missouri (3-0) each moved up one place in the rankings. The Huskies got nine first-place votes and 1,593 points, while the Tigers were No. 1 on six ballots and drew 1,512 points. Duke (5-1) moved up two places to fourth, and Kansas (3-1) which last week soared from No. 6 to No. 1 -- fell back to fifth. As I expected Stanford made a big jump to make the top 15.
Very nice rankings by the Associated Press. They were remarkably similar to JustBBall.Com's rankings. The similarities are the following: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">JustBBall.Com Rankings 1)Florida 2)Connecticut 9)Arizona 13)Stanford</div> While there were only four teams that were ranked the same in both polls, most teams were ranked around the same general area in both polls. I am glad to see Dayton ranked. I think I was the only one who voted for them in the JustBBall.Com Poll.
