The question might not ever come up, but what happens when Rick Fox is healthy? Will he be given his starting position back, or will Devean George retain the SF spot? Devean George has been a force and is taking advantage of his opportunities. He is allowing the Laker offense to function the way it's designed to work and he's punishing teams who double any Laker player. However, Phil Jackson is an old school coach, who likes going with his veteran players. He does not believe in a player losing his spot due to injury. Should it be Fox's job to lose or should he have to earn it back?
I think Devean's. He is more dynamic, and more athletic(Fox himself says so). I think Phil will also relish the idea of bringing a great shooter like Rick off the bench, sort of like a backup 1-2 punch with Derek Fisher. Actually, in Chicago when Rodman got injured one time, I think PJ kept playing Kukoc in the starting five for a while after Dennis got back, and only went back to the bench when Rodman earned his spot back(which didn't take long).
Even before Fox got hurt, he was not playing very in my opinion, and there is no way that he could play at the level that Devean George is playing at now. Easy call.

George is the better player, better shooter, rebounder and scorer.Fox still is a good defensive player but George isn't that bad either. This is a no brainer.
I say Devean George, George has really picked up his game, and he is a much different player than last season. He's also a better scorer, he can give us 10-15 pts any given night. I think Fox knows and understands his role as coming off the bench, and I think he's okay with it. Once Fox comes in, he can provide good minutes, contribute as many points as he can, and also a great defender.
George, no question. He is playing too well right now. Fox wasnt even playing this well when he was the starter last year. Fox will make a solid bench player for us though
George, I'd say it last year, and I'll say it now. I don't like Fox at all on the basketball court. He's nothing more than average, and he wont get better. Decent defender, streaky of the shooting, decent passer, does not bring much to this Laker team as a starter. He'll be decent off the bench I guess, but George is playing amazing ball.

He acts like he does nothing wrong ALL THE TIME! I wouldn't say Fox is a decent defender, I think he's a great defender. Whenever the Lakers need that critical stop, we can rely on Fox for that assistance. But Devean George, you gotta give it up for this guy. Is it ok to write in George as the Laker Fab Five?
I say George because hes younger, more athletic and bigger. He also has a nice 3pt shot sometimes(I dont get alot of lakers games so im not to sure.)
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Laker_Fever_834:</div><div class="quote_post">Is it ok to write in George as the Laker Fab Five?</div> I have no problem with that
Also, with Fox I don't feel he's focued all the time. Even off the court, he has his fun always being out in public, and when Laker games came on last year, EVERY single commercial he was on advertising "Ford Dealership." Now I know everyone does commercials, but you guys don't realize he's on every single one. Also, I don't like the way he laughs when he makes a mistake, that's one thing I can't stand. I don't like the guy on the court at all. That's why I again say George all the way!
George IMO has alott more upside, and will be a pretty good player. Fox is getting old, and his defense isnt what it used to be. Purple N gold, check you Pms.
I think the consensus is George. He's improved so much the last 2 years. The only thing that kept Fox in the lineup before was his outside shooting, and I'm not sure if George isn't better than Fox in that aspect now.
i think that George has a better shot than Fox anyways plus he is younger and is showing that he is serious about getting that start pos.
