Just like I said, mare is a game dunker, he uses amazing power and ups to overwhelm who ever is under the basket.
Baron Davis is a game dunker too. btw, this is kinda embarrassing asking considering where I live and all but is the all-star game at staples this year? I remember hearing it was suppose to be here a while back, but i'm not sure if its this year. If so, it's not really getting any buzz here.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">Amare is a game dunker, much like Kobe Bryant. Put some bodies under the basket and Amare would win hands down.</div> Amare, I will agree on, is a game dunker. But, Kobe, I dunno. He seems more of a finesse dunker, not a power or game dunker. I mean, he does a lot of jaw dropping dunks in games that you might see in a contest. For example, last year, against Denver, behind the back 360 dunk. That was sweet. Than he had a double clutch reverse dunk over KG and a bunch of other TWolves in the playoffs and he also did that same dunk to Duncan and Willis in the semis. So, I guess you could call him a game dunker, but, I would consider him either like, a guy who will try the jaw dropping stuff whenever he can, or, a mixture of both. I think he's more of a mix.
East: James - Guard Iverson - Guard O'Neal - Forward Carter - Forward Wallace - Center West: Kobe - Guard Marbury - Guard Garnett - Forward Duncan - Forward Ming - Center I dont think James and Ming deserve to start, but because of there fan base they will. The west will win.
Amare was in the Mcdonalds All-American slam dunk contest a while back.. i dont think he did bad there. Most likely, no 6'11" player will win a slam dunk contest - it doesnt look as flashy. When you see someone who is 6 foot 6 get up and put it through his legs, it just looks better than someone with an extra 5 inches get up.. if they dont pull their legs up as they dunk, the crowd figures the taller guys dont have the jumping ability of the smaller competitors
17-7-6 are not all star numbers. This is a game for the elite. LeBron is only 18, he does not belong in a All Star game probably over players who've been trying to make it longer than him. There's a whole lot of people out there avg the 19-10 type of numbers. Throw LeBron in the rookie game, we'll need some excitement there, with Melo. Then maybe next year we can talk about LeBron.

Well put. I just think it looks more in your words flashy to see a smaller or regular guy jumping an unbelieveable height and slamming a ball into a 10 ft high rim. Its like seeing Spud Webb. Wow a person less than 6 foot just dunked it. Then looking at a almost 7'0 guy No suprise, look at his height. Thats just how I feel about taller guys in dunk contests.

Do you know how hard it is to contribute that EVENLY every night? Do you know how much talent it takes to get the 7-7 alone? He has a very good all around game. Do you know who in the NBA has 300-119-109? Bron Bron (298 on points - close enough). The only player really comparable to that is The Truth (353-115-93), another All Star. Let's get off Brons age and view him for what he is - a star. The majority of real NBA fans want to see Bron, AI, Davis, Truth, TMac & Kidd in the AS game because they are the best of the East.
Who should be in the Slam Dunk Contest? This is my list pending on if everyone is willing to participate. I'll keep it to 8 players. 1. VC 2. Bron 3. Ricky Davis 4. Jason Richardson 5. Baron Davis 6. Kobe 7. Mcgrady 8. Stevie Franchise This will be one of the alltime greatest slam dunk competition ever if it goes down like this *They should get rid of that wheel though, its not fair for some players and its boring* My opinion for a skills competition.....One On One games to 11 split between players 6'0 to 6'7 and 6'8 to 7'6 Tell me who wouldn't want to see that? <font size="1">edit: language (don't mask swear words either, leave them out altogether)</font>
Courtvision, do you read SLAM! ? There was an article on Ricky Davis last year. It said that he is "too experienced" to be in the dunk competition. I'd assume that the same thing applies to VC, Kobe, and TMac, maybe even JRich.

He's one of the most creative dunkers in the game, easily.

I said they are nice numbers, but this is a game for the ELITE. Don't try to tell me LeBron through 20 games or whatever is an elite player like Kobe, T-Mac, Iverson, Duncan, KG, etc. He's a kid, let him grow into the All-Star game. Putting him in his 1st year seems like a force, and then sit Melo in the rookie game as if he doesn't have as much talent.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Purple N Gold:</div><div class="quote_post"> but this is a game for the ELITE.</div> No it is not, it is a game for popular players among 12 and 13 year olds who dont know ball. Yao made it, and I don't feel that Shawn Marion deserved it either.
2003-2004 allstar game Excuse me evryone but haven't you all forgotten one important person to select in the all star game. If this MVP didn't go i would never watch it, His name is Jason Kidd. The greatest player to play the game. Got robbed of the MVP award twice-but this year it's all his baby. GO KIDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Purple N Gold:</div><div class="quote_post">17-7-6 are not all star numbers. </div> WOW, is that quote quite familiar... wait, didn't I say that? Well, that is very true and as for King James: He had a great game WOW, but did he win? Thats not elite, elite is winning. AND, he would have had a triple double if he was elite, 2 OT's. And this is a game for popularity and 12 and 13 year olds, thats why LeBron will make it, not cuz his skill. But think about it, most of the players 12 and 13 year olds know, are elite right? If your are GREAT like Allen Iverson you will make it, no doublt. Same with Kobe, Shaq, Duncan.
