Brad Miller would make the west Bench

Boozer instead of Ilgauskus would make the East Bench...the rest are similar to what I would have

If you honestly think LeBron won't play in the all star game then you need to check who's jersey is selling the most.

Oh wait, it's LBJ.. that pretty much means he's a popular player right?

NBA All-Star Game = Popularity contest. Don't believe me? Look at VC from last year, HE WAS GONNA START AND HE BARELY PLAYED ANY GAMES! But why did he play? Because of popularity.

LeBron James is one of the most known players in the L, and he's playing in the All Star Game.

He'll probably be at the All-Star game, but he won't be a starter. [IMG]

And Yao ming started over Shaq which was lucacris. I mean, I don't think that people in China should be able to vote for this. I know its to get foreign people involved, but not if they do dumb things like this.

I say we vote in the China league. Just vote all the americans in. Thats what they are doing here.

I doubt he wouldn't get voted in, does he fully deserve to start? I'm not going there.

Yeah Yao Ming started over Shaq, that wasn't a big deal to me, at least Shaq got in there. We need to understand that the All-Star game is just an exhibition game, it's not like the MLB All-Star game when you have 2 teams busting their butts off to win home field advantage. The NBA is a worldwide event, with all sorts of different ethnicities and backgrounds, so to say that the people of China can't have a say in this is pretty racist.

Then you can't let the Germans vote, bec. they'll vote for Dirk.
Or let any European nation vote for Stoja, Parker, etc.

So the solution becomes only let Americans vote.

    Thats not a good solution.

If they wanted one, do what the NFL does. Allow fan voting to only account for 25%. The coaches, media outlets, etc get to make up the rest of the count.

No, he doesn't deserve to start, but with all the voting and popularity craze in the NBA, people would do anything to get LeBron in. It's all about popularity. Just like what someone stated, when Vince Carter was voted in while he was injured, and Michael Jordan was 2nd behind Carter, and Carter even had to give up his starting spot to Jordan. Funny isn't it? I personally wouldn't vote for LeBron because I don't see anything special in him right now. Cleveland still has a bad road record, they're pretty much the same team from last year except the new unis and court logos, and LeBron is more of a passer than a shooter. I say vote for Carmello. He's making his team a winner.

And thats got nothing to do with LeBron playing PG, does it?

And the fact that Denver has a good PG in AMiller running the team, a great backup in Boykins, a healthy Camby, an improved Nene, a better bench with Barry..........all that has nothing to do with Denver winning. Its all Carmelo.

When LeBron was drafted, all this hype circulated around him saying he was the next coming of all the superstars you can think of. I've watched mostly all of the nationally televised games of LeBron, and if you check out his numbers the last probably 3-4 games, he isn't the shooter anybody expected, he can't even take the ball in crunch time to help his team win, and he can't even take as many shots like a real star should. And we should call him an All-Star? He doesn't even get my vote to be a backup. Look at Carmello. At least on a consistent basis, he drops close to 20 pts a night, grabs 10-15 rebs, and helps his team win. Of course everything isn't circulating around Mello, but he's one of the pieces that's making Denver a good team. To me, he's an All-Star. That's what All-Stars do.

Who will start in 2004 All Star Game ??

Who do you guys think will start in the all star game in LA , i think the starting lineups will be similar if not identical to the ones that started in Atlanta this year. I guess the big question is whether LeBron will start after getting voted by the fans which i think will happen.

I think the teams will shape up this way

    EAST
    PG Iverson
    SG LeBron
    SF Vince
    PF J.O'Neal
    C Big Ben

My bench:Baron Davis ,Kidd, T-Mac ,Pierce ,Rip Hamilton,Shareef, Ilgauskus, K-Mart,

    WEST

    PG Stevie Franchise
    SG Kobe
    SF KG
    PF Duncan
    C Yao

My bench:Dirk, Nash,Carmelo,Gasol ,Shaq, Peja, Randolph ,Starbury

I think the likes of Arenas, Harpring ,Redd and Amare will miss out just but who knows Flip Murray could make the West team the way he has been playing so far.

Vince Carter most def...hes finally healthy this year and should have no excuse to skip the dunk contest

the more creative dunkers (these ones should def be in the dunk contest)

    Jason Richardson

    yea... forgot about Ricky Davis.

Hes a great dunker but I dont think hes as creative though. He does better dunks when theres someone in front of him. Like he said himself "I ony like to dunk on people now". I dont think he would be too exciting in the dunk contest.

Carter and Richardson would be tight! J-Rich would crush him though.[IMG]

He would have been beaten last year if Mase hadn't shanked his second playoff dunk, and if the judges hadn't IMO underscored him for his last. I don't think anyone would beat Ricky Davis in a dunk comp anyway.

You guys, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady..players don't care about the dunk contest, thats why they put the 3 year rule in efect last year.

So if you played more than 3 years, you can't participate.

Did anyone actually pay attention last year at all?

They made this rule as a cover up so people would stop asking why the older players were not giving a crap about the contest.
