What about LeBron? Another possibility for the Eastern Conference All-Start Team at forward: LeBron James. I don't think he's earned it, but the NBA is all about hype. I believe the coach of the All-Star Team picks the backups. The coach of the team with the best record in the conference gets the distinction. That could be Rick Carlisle, which might favor Artest; or it might be Tim Floyd or Larry Brown.

Am 18 year old pulling 17, 7, and 6 (rounding) is not "earning it"? I am not saying he deserves it either, but those numbers are pretty sick for anybody to do (only Magic and O.Robertson have pulled off those numbers as rookies)

Baron Davis Snubbed in voting? BD the most exciting player THIS year is being snubbed by fans! Sure VC is electric and is more of a hosuehold name than BD but people should seriously do their research before voting. Im not saying VC isnt having an all star season (which he is) but BD should be starting with his performance this year.

But we all know what the All-Star game is about.
Yea he should be, I'm sure LeBron will get on this instead of Baron. Baron deserves this more than any other PG in the East...
I do not believe Baron Davis should start. When Jason Kidd was having his MVP-worthy season he wasn't voted as a starter, and I was perfectly okay with that. The guys who are voted in are the guys who are the fan's favorite players. Right now Tracy McGrady and Allen Iverson are the fan's favorite players. The quality players who aren't always in commercials or on t.v. (like Kidd and Davis) still play good time in the All-Star game. They just don't start because the fans would rather see other players. Just being on the roster makes you an All-Star. Starting means nothing.
Baron Davis deserves to start the All Star game, but he wont because he doesn't have the fan base and it's the fans that make you start. The coaches will get him into the All Star game, but on the bench. But he'll still get a lot of minutes of the bench.

He might be subbed in fairly early too, which is what the East coaches always do when two "non-points" are voted in as starters. A couple years ago they had it easy when VC got hurt, cuz then they placed JKidd in as their option in the starting 5. Baron will probably be the first point off the bench this time, perhaps in the first five minutes.

What can i say about Baron,Ranks #4 in the NBA in Points Per Game(23.6) Ranks #2 in the NBA in Assists Per Game(8.5) Ranks #1 in the NBA in Steals(67.0) and Ranks #2 in the NBA in Steals Per Game(2.91) +Ranks #1 in the NBA in Three-Point Field Goals Made(71.0)...This should earn him a spot as a starter. This guy is my most consistent player in the L. I also think starting means alot in Allstar games

I didn't say anywhere in that post that he should bench because Jason Kidd benched. Let me reiterate this. If the season ended today then Baron Davis would deserve the MVP award. However, Baron Davis does not deserve to start in the All-Star game if the fans do not vote him in. Being deserving of a starting spot on the All-Star roster does not mean that a player is good. It means that the fans want to see that player start. It is a popularity contest and right now Baron Davis does not have the popularity thus he does not deserve it.

Might have already been posted, but I'll post it anyway. Link to NBA All Star Voting so far... All Star Voting Just a joke how this plays out, one thing I'll point out is that Ray Allen is top 10 in West guards voting. Emanuel Giniboli is getting more votes than Marbury . LeBron James is ahead in voting of a top 3 MVP candidate. Scottie Pippen is #4 in votes for East fowards . Dampier isn't even getting any attention, not even in the top 5 for West Centers . And the laugh of the day, Chris Webber is leading Peja in votes . That is just wrong, Peja goes and plays his heart out leading the Kings to an awesome record while Webber is sitting watching him in on the bench, and still gets more props! Things like this simply ruin the All Star game, maybe the fans shouldn't get the chance to vote! Because at this rate all it looks like is fake basketball fans just clicking names.

My Allstar team I know their is a good while to go but im willing to put a bet on that this will be the Allstar team, unless some players get injured this will be the starting teams. East Ben Wallace Allen Iverson Tracy McGrady Vince Carter Jermaine O'Neal West Shaquille O'Neal Kobe Bryant Steve Francis Kevin Garnett Tim Duncan There are some close calls but i think this will be the teams starting in Feb. Anyone agree?
East Ben Wallace Allen Iverson or Jason Kidd Tracy McGrady Vince Carter Jermaine O'Neal West Shaquille O'Neal Kobe Bryant Steve Francis Kevin Garnett Tim Duncan I sure think East should have a real point guard......... West look better this year than East...........but only God and Kobe will decide who will win
There are people who can match up with Kobe on the west... I see it as the front court is where everything will happen. Shaq Duncan and KG... lol that just sounds like a dream team.
