<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He had two words to decribe his plight: "I'm bummed." Raef LaFrentz stayed home last night as his Celtics teammates headed for the airport and a flight to Cleveland for tonight's game against the Cavaliers. On Monday, LaFrentz is scheduled for season-ending surgery to correct the ongoing, relentless, and extremely painful tendinitis that has bothered him all season. "It's hard to miss this much time with an injury," said LaFrentz, whose first Celtics season will consist of 17 games, the finale being last night's 18-minute, 9-point submission in Boston's 114-111 victory over Toronto. "I feel like I've been playing at half-speed out there in games and not getting a lot done in practice. I've done everything the staff has suggested, but it just hasn't gotten any better. I just feel now is the time."</div> http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/ce...y_kos_lafrentz/ He hasn't been playing well this season, and the surgery is probably the best option rather than playing limited minutes. Hopefully he can come straight back next year and prove that he was worth trading for Antoine Walker.

Man, even with Raef Lafrentz healthy, there is no way they are better than the Celtics with Walker. I critisized this trade from the beginning, and this just made it even worse.
Celtics are hot right now, but I doubt they're gonna make the playoffs this year, even if they do, they'll get kicked out the first round.
Hmmm, this might actually be a blessing. The Celts can play their other big guys more minutes, and then get more for them in a trade to get a quality 2nd scorer for pierce at year's end, someone like Ricky Davis. Then a healthy Lafrentz can come in and fill the minutes played by the dumped player.
The Celtics are going from bad to worse. I wish I could say I trusted Ainge to bring in some good players, but I really don't. After all, he traded an All-Star for a reserve because he didn't like him. Now they might as well just tank the season and go for a high lottery pick.

As long as the Celtics make the play-offs, that should be a great season for them and they should go home happy. And by the way, Celtics are in position to make the playoffs.
